Thai food in the Creek

I've seen Z's House of Thai mentioned online for a long time now, so when a friend wanted Thai food for lunch, I said, "I know just the place!"

It's a small shack-like building tucked away in downtown Cave Creek, right next to Janey's. Choose to sit at the bar, a table in the dark interior or out on the patio. We choose the nice cool weather outside with views of mountains and saguaros, because when I'm in the Creek, I want to sit outside in it.

We shared a few items: Green curry with chicken, cucumber salad, and the server suggestion of the BBQ pork. We had intended on trying more, but honestly, this was the perfect filling lunch for two. I don't believe that you can ever go wrong with a cucumber salad as it's so light and refreshing. Not only did I love the flavor of the pork appetizer, but the unexpected slight crunch was so nice as well. The green curry was fresh and tasty with a hint of spice. A small tin of extra spice sauce was brought out if we wanted to add extra heat.

I love hanging in the Creek and Z's is another quaint location to enjoy good food and feel the small town vibes.

The service was okay, seemed like they might be short staffed. The thai iced tea was delightful but definitely on the sweet side. The massaman curry was slightly watery and had quite a bit of lemon flavor. The atmosphere was nice outside as we were welcomed with heat lamps and live music next door.

Had an amazingly delicious and nutritious lunch with my husband yesterday. A large patio with the personable and kind owner as our server. I highly recommend z’s!

We loved dining at Z’s - the food is amazing and the service was fantastic. The green curry was great and ask for the hot sauce, which is the owner’s grandmothers special recipe. The Thai basil fried rice, veggie tempura and seaweed salad paired nicely with our hot sake. We will be back!

Z’s is absolutely amazing! We have tried a number of different Thai places a bit farther south and while some are good, none compare to the quality of the food at Z’s. And in addition it’s in such a beautiful location! We usually sit at the bar and get hot sake to start. Z always pours the first one for us, and warns us if it’s too hot to drink yet. All of the food is so fresh, not a frozen ingredient around. Dishes we love include: ginger delight, black pepper, Tom Kha, and red curry. Oh, and the wings are great, too. Z suggested we try her favorite next time - the Tom Yum soup. We will take the recommendation!

Had a great dinner at Z's. Ate outside, which was great. They had a fire pit outside. Drinks were also made well. Chicken pad thai was good. They make it one way with their spicy homemade sauce on the side to make it as hot as you want.

What a hidden gem! Bartender Thomas was fantastic—friendly and personable. The owners are hands-on and incredibly kind. Most importantly, the food is outstanding!

Z's House of Thai is a wonderful dining experience! I'd highly recommend Z's to anyone that loves Thai food and/or anyone looking to try Thai food for the first time. Over the years, I've had many dishes there and every dish is made fresh with high quality meats and vegetables, and tons of flavor. The owner Z is loved in the community! Support local! We love Z's!!!
