My family and I stayed at Zachari Dunes for our week long vacation. Everyone and everything exceeded our expectations. Initially, there was a tiny glitch with the room we were given vs what we booked, paid… online. However, Venesa immediately handled the issue and moved us to the room we booked.
I think all the folks at the front welcoming guests, front desk folks being extremely helpful and ONLY A TEXT away (Can you believe that? You don’t call and wait for someone to pick up. You text and your reply back in a sec with a service exceeding your expectations!!!), the folks at OX & OCEAN (We had our breakfast, lunch and dinner through out our stay at this place. Is it a bit expensive? Yes. However you get what you pay for my friend. MAGIC SUNSET sent me & my wife to our room happy every single time 😉 know exactly how to be great host…
Safe (I ran around the place and along the beach at 0400 daily), beautiful and gorgeous location. And we WILL BE BACK.
The only thing I would suggest to change if possible: No charge for parking 🅿️

I highly recommend this Hilton resort! I stayed for three nights and had a fantastic experience. The resort is right on the beach, offering breathtaking sunset views from my room and incredible stargazing at night. The staff was outstanding, and the rooms were excellent—spacious, well-appointed, and part of an all-suite property. The best part? Our suite had two full bathrooms, which made the stay even more comfortable. Absolutely loved it!

What a fantastic resort! The sunset view from our room was stunning. It was super easy to walk out on to the beach. Majestic mountains in the background. Front desk was very professional and accomodating. A true hidden gem, would definitely go back.

Hospitality needs serious improvements.
Room service - took away the reusable bottles they themselves wanted us to use. Completely forgot about our room service request and didn't replace the paper cups for coffee
Check in- did not properly walk us through how parking and other facilities work.
Parking - No disclosure that parking is not included and is an extra $45 fee per day. Ridiculous.
Maintenance ends up replacing the locks on all the doors without even informing.
Would be better for rentals to be bit more gracious, though it's off season and there isn't much of a crowd. Like most such places would give nice upgrades, delights and perks when in off season, at least that has been our experience.
Rest of the stuff is good but for a premium hotel hospitality needs an overhaul.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was decent and received a free complementary upgrade for being a diamond member. We didn’t eat on the property but we did get drinks and that was good. Overall a really nice stay and we would come back. The resort was also pet friendly and that’s a huge plus for us.
One complaint is that we have an EV and they don’t offer a charger. Although there is a level 2 outlet, it’s not a standard plug. My friends and I both tried and no one could get it to work. It would be nice if the hotel had a charger outlet adapter so we can borrow and use during our stay.

My wife and I stayed for four nights from December 26. We booked a beach front King room and we were presented with a few ground floor room options in the Hilton app, I picked one that was facing the ocean directly. The room itself is fine still suffers from an identity crisis when it was embassy suites, the furniture and decor is the same, but the bathrooms were beautifully remodeled. A big plus was two full bathrooms one with a tub and another with a standing shower. The location is what makes it spectacular. You can walk to the beach anytime, you can sit on the patio and enjoy the sunset, you can leave the windows open overnight and sleep to the ocean sound! The hospitality by the staff was excellent as well, we only had breakfast at the Ox & Ocean restaurant. The staff, specially, Matthew and Jordan were amazingly accommodating and made our mornings extra special. We did not have dinner there as I did not see many good options for vegetarians like us. The property overall has been beautifully remodeled, just wish they could add fire pits on the beach.

We spent our wedding night here and had a fantastic time.
We spent time here in 2021 when it was in its previous iteration. We love the remodel and focus on hospitality. Staff was very accommodating and hospitable. The location is unbeatable, I would highly suggest spending the extra to get a room by the ocean- some of the best oceanfront views in CA for the price.
The only complaint was with the food at Ox and Ocean. Overpriced and bland unfortunately

There are beautiful parts of the hotel and many other parts that look over a not maintained dirty parking lot. For what we paid I would expect more and a nicer experience. The room was nice with a fridge and microwave but no other things are in the room such as q tips or little things you usually get when you pay for a nicer hotel. Shampoo is built in to the wall. You can see in pictures that half of the rooms face a dirty parking lot for nearly $300 a night after fees and taxes. Many balconies face the wall or some even have sliding “balcony” doors that are connected to the main hall with no porch. That is not worth $270 a night. Some rooms have a beautiful view of the pool and beach but they are much more expensive.
Parking is not included and costs $45 a night.
When we check out we found out there is daily $35 resort fee and a $150 a night deposit that was placed on the card we gave them. We were not informed of this at check in. We had already paid for the room, taxes, and fees online.
When I plugged my straighter into their plug, it shorted and caused a small electrical fire on my straighter that I dropped and quickly smothered. The resort got someone up there quickly, handled it, and moved our room with no problem. Edwin, a maintenance employee was amazing, helpful, kind, and went above and beyond to help us get to our new room! The hotel did comp us our resort fees and parking fee when we checked out but only after I told them my straightener was literally fried. This is how we found out about the deposit and resort fees that we weren’t informed of at check in and had already been charged for.
I would stay at a hotel like this for slightly less. The rooms that are surrounded by dirty parking lots or have “balconies to the hall” shouldn’t be $270 a night.
The pool, access to the beach, and restaurants look nice, but other than the pool nothing is included with your resort fee. There isn’t even a complimentary breakfast or anything. It’s is a slightly nicer hotel with cool restaurants, access to the beach, a game room, and some pretty views but it’s not an actual resort.
The pictures below of the parking lot are the actual view from our room for $270 a night not including daily parking, resort fees, and deposit.
