I really wanted to give Y Knot five stars. My wife and I enjoyed the burnt ends and brisket sandwich, but the spare ribs were too tough. I felt like I was tearing at the ribs like a dog with a chew toy. We also thought that the potato salad fell flat. It was bland and slightly watery, but it had potential. Similarly, the cowboy beans were a little too authentic. The beans were overpowered by a charred/smokey flavor, which I did not enjoy. I'm just glad to have found decent BBQ in Alaska.

We stopped at the food truck with no expectations. We were blown away by the taste & quality of food. If you can time it right, the burnt ends are amazing. Brisket sandwich very tasty and tender. The owner/chef was great to talk with and he and my husband chatted smoking strategies.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! Literally the BEST brisket and pulled pork I’ve EVER had!!! Melt in your mouth! Lean! Delicious! Left me wanting more yet the portions are so generous I didn’t need more!!! It’s just that my taste buds were going CRAZY! And you can taste the quality of the meat. It’s so delicious it doesn’t even need bbq sauce…but definitely try the sauce! It’s unique and DELISH! I wish I could give 10 stars!!!!!!!

The brisket and burnt ends were fantastic! I highly recommend the apple raisin coleslaw for a side, I'm not the biggest fan of coleslaw, but that stuff was very refreshing and delicious!

I had the brisket sandwich. It was good quality meat, and well prepared. The sauce is unlike any I’ve had before, but very tasty. The sandwich came with a bag of chips that were locally made from locally grown potatoes. I’m only in the area for a short time, but would definitely eat here again.

We had to wait about 15 minutes for our food but it was worth the wait. I had the cuban and it was so delicious. It was heavy on the yellow mustard but I liked it. My husband had the brisket and said it was great. The cranberry apple coleslaw is my new favorite!!!

I am updating my initial review. I went back to Y Knot the next time I was passing through Talkeetna. The food was hot, fresh & plentiful. My dinner was enough for 2-3 meals. I appreciated the owner reaching out to me about my first experience. Thanks for the good food!

First experience: One of the strangest experiences I have ever had. I stopped by yesterday at 6:30 pm to get some dinner. The open sign was on & an employee was at the window. They asked what I wanted to order & I said that I needed to look at the menu---the menu is written on a chalkboard to the left of the window. I looked at it for no more than 2 minutes & when I turned back to the window the employee had turned off the open sign and the lights in the food truck. I was stunned. The hours posted were until 7 pm so it wasn't closing time. I stood there in disbelief for a couple of minutes before getting into my car & driving away. If this is how customers are treated, it makes sense that the parking lot was empty. If you do go there, order fast.

The burned ends were AMAZING! Will, the guy running it when we came, is so nice and personable. Definitely a solid stop in Talkeetna!
