Don’t be fooled by the pictures!
The Hotel is rundown and does not maintain routine cleaning. My room had not been cleaned in quite some time, apparently, you can request this prior to arriving because it is the off-season, but who would’ve known that. The heating ducts blew dirt over the room, towels and bed. There is no hot tub. The pool seems to be open to use by the locals. The front desk staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately, the bartender was extremely rude. As I was checking out the first floor, she approached me and asked where I had come from. I told her what state I am from. She aggressively wanted to know how I had gotten into the establishment. I gave her my room number. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Park in front and pay attention to your surroundings.

Loved being able to come and go whenever we went for the casino which was amazing!
Had the Jacuzzi suite which the Jacuzzi had nasty hair and yuck stuff in it had to clean it out 🙁 didn't love.... Other than that great stay will be back again ( also waiting for them to drop my 50 something hold they had us put down still? May need to call soon.

Positive: Easy to access from Interstate 64. Staff was nice. Room was dated but clean. Negative: Lack of hot water, not enough breakfast for the amount of guests there. When the one young man was asked if they were going to put any more out, he said the two ladies were outside smoking and he didn't know when they would be back in to prepare it.

Do NOT book Wyndham Garden hotel in cross lanes for any event at all. We have had the absolute worst experience.
On January 31, we called and booked the meeting room for Keenan's birthday party. We agreed to a price of $175 and we were all getting a room so the kids could swim. We used to stay at this hotel as children and swim so it was so special to us to have his party here.
We came in yesterday to confirm everything was okay. They informed us that the assistant manager double booked the meeting room for a funeral. We did not want to put the people with the funeral out of a place so we offered to change our time of the birthday party. They told us that there was no need, and that since we booked two weeks ago, they would cancel theirs since it was just booked three days ago. We assured them that we didn't mind and they said they would only do one event a day in the room and they were cancelling theirs. We said okay. We show up to the hotel at 11AM today with all of our food & decorations. We walk in and they inform us that we would not be getting the meeting room. We would be getting the bar. For a children's birthday party. With alcohol and everything else out, not even the space we agreed to and they still expected us to pay the full amount. She said this was the only solution that they could think of. I explained what we agreed to yesterday and she said she did not care what we agreed to because she she was the boss and she didn't tell us that.
I explained that this was not fair, and that this was very unprofessional. She raised her voice and was so extremely rude for being the general manager and called me some names that I will not say on here. - and also wasn't wearing shoes

All of this is just to say, do NOT book here for anything. They are so insanely out of order, unprofessional and rude. Had we figured something out yesterday and stuck to it, there would be no issue. But there was no phone call update or anything of the sort, just a change of plans on their part without even letting us know.

This horrific stay started with the owner of the Grille meeting newcomers with “what do you need” and a smirk on her face as she came into the lobby. Great customer service for an owner. I believe the hotel (Cross Lanes, WV) should let anyone know when you’ve booked a ton of kids for any sporting event especially high schoolers and younger. Even more so when you’ve had trouble with the same group from previous stays. My husband and I was not able to take a shower for two days due to no hot water with all of them there. Adults, small children as well as the athletes running and yelling in the hall after midnight as well as knocking on random doors and running away after midnight. Groups of kids standing outside our room windows yelling till 3:00am. The heavy obnoxious smell of marijuana INSIDE as well as in the parking lot. And the hotel staff, while apologetic, had no control over the situation forcing my husband and I to abandon our vacation stay and go to the added expense of seeking out another hotel room at 9:00p on a Saturday night. Worst possible place in the Charleston WV area to stay. THE WORST!!

Positive: Nice atmosphere in lobby - pretty fireplace and decor. Easy access to highway. Breakfast was better than expected, too. Negative: Not really at the star rating. The indoor pool was dirty and would have been a problem if we were swimming, but we wern't. I would definitely stay again at the price point we paid.

1. Homeless man with a beer cooler sleeping outside hotel. Sad to see that. ||2. Pool broken due to termites. Didn’t bother to tell us prior ||3. Room worn out but pretty clean except for vents which were so gross with dust. ||4. One person cooking, bartending, and waiting tables in their restaurant. Took a long time. I felt sorry for her. That’s a lot for one person. ||5. Everything is just old. ||6. Broken jukebox in bar||7. Gym closed ||8. HVAC in room didn’t work. ||9. No hot water in the morning due to to many people showering is my guess ||10. Told me to call to get points and they couldn’t add them. ||Just not a good stay. I felt bad for the staff as they were all very nice but the hotel needs a lot of love.

Wouldn't really recommend. Worse than most commercial hotels, the floors are carpet and stained, everything is dirty, the pool they advertise isn't even open, and everything looks really nasty. Staff were pretty good, check in took about 5 minutes.
