This is a hidden gem. This restaurant has a great welcoming environment. My boyfriend and I ordered the rib eye steak meal. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The food and service were excellent. We shall me coming back to this place again when we head this way.

Food was great and server was nice. I think they were understaffed. A few loud people made it noisier than it needed to be. That said, fish and chips was great, coleslaw was amazing, I'd definitely go back and recommend the place

Best burger in Watsonville. I had the Nickel burger, very large, fresh, avocado. Nice fries. The coleslaw had a hint of pineapple, nice touch. My wife had the fried fish and prawns, generous portions, tasty. The place has a pleasant old timey vibe with interesting wall and ceiling artifacts. Pleasant and attentive server.

I drove 20 miles with my wife on 12/8/2024 to eat at the wooden nickel. Arrived at ten after one PM.
CLOSED!
Even though the damn website says 2 o’clock is the closing time.
This review is the only hint they may get that they have lost a customer for life.
