Okay...where to start. I was looking for a nice 3 month stay(for my job) close to Middlesborough, KY. I talked with the owner over the phone 4 days before I moved in..it sounded like a beautiful apartment. She said it was seperate from the main b & b house and that it was fully equipped with wifi, dishwasher, cell coverage, premium channels via satellite, and with kitchen that is fully equipped with everything i could need. We agreed on a weekly rate. She asked my for my credit card information because she said it was Only needed to "hold the apartment for me." I, stupidly, gave her my number thinking i was not going to find anything else and it sounded like her business was very busy. I could seriously write a book on what happened over the following week and 2 days. She took out 5 weeks worth of rent before i got there..with no real excuse as to why. I Know now i should have demanded it back right then. I get to the apartment and the wifi doesnt work, no cell coverage, dishwasher didn't work(she said she had ordered the part to make it work), it was dirty(had not been vacuumed, dead bugs all under the bed, spiders on the ceiling, dead bugs in the dresser drawers, Deads bugs on the kitchen floor), water heater leaking for 3 night(even after plumber came to fix), pipes froze-so didnt have water for 3 days. She allowed me to move into the main house after pipes froze in the apt. which was so much cleaner and wifi accessible. The next couple of days I realized just how bad of a businiess person she is.. The owner was very Hard to deal with. She would be nice at times then randomly turn into a rude/unkind person. I got out of there as soon as I could...left on a Teusday. I told her she could keep the rest of the 2nd weeks worth of rent but i wanted the rest of my money she took out. This started a two week fiasco of her not answering her phone nor my texts to get my money back($730). Finally called an attorney for guidance. So 2 weeks later i called her one last time hoping she would pick up. She did..and said the check was in the mail- i did receive the check. She had taken out an additional $70 which she said was very internet fee and for using the business credit card machine. SO.. She ended up taking a lot of my money... I do not recommend staying here. My experience was awful.. And definitely unforgettable.
