I’m certain I’ve never been welcomed with such familial hospitality and warmth with an Airbnb stay than with Doug, Marge, Mike, Karen and Kent (the entire crew for the 2 nights we were there). Gabrielle and I came and thought we would just get a little peace and quiet out on the preserve and do some sightseeing but we got more than we bargained for as the cliche saying goes. We got swept up into the seasonal gillsetting pitched up by Doug (the head host), Mike (the bear hunter, fisher guide and the guy that picked us up and dropped us off), and Kent (who is part of the awesome crew that makes the Wilderness Pro Lodge function!) We then got invited to see the 20 some salmon that the gillsetting caught and learned to gut and clean them- all very educational, insightful and gave us an even more glimpse into the world out here where people can be more connected to nature and the cycles and seasons that it brings us. Also we loved seeing the different personalities from the crew and enjoyed connecting, sharing and learning with the family- we felt like we were staying with family and everything was priceless. We are grateful for the love, passion and home Doug and everyone shared with us.

- Cabin was hand built by Doug and his family and some friends resulting in a lot of unique features and obvious showmanship
- Doug and crew went out of their way to keep us comfortable even though we booked a dry cabin (super cozy, warm, had everything we need) w double camp burner, utensils, towels (shower/by the sauna outside).
- Lots of mosquitos but bug spray helps and just being okay with it since this is the great outdoors!
- PIKE FISHING HALF DAY with Mike was AMAZING! he is a well of knowledge, stories, fun goofy and obviously skilled and talented like Doug. We were grateful he was our go to guide about bears, animals and fish!

10/10 would come back and see what more becomes of this amazing place.

3 days felt like we were here for 10. Everything was better than we expected and hope this special gem of a place can be experienced by those curious about the outdoors hosted by this wholesome family. Definitely felt like a little home away from home.
