We went with our family for dinner, granted it was a large group. The pizza was ok and the bacon burger was tasty. The waiter was very soft spoken and did a fair job. Ask me if I wanted a refill on my drink twice, I said yes twice but it never materialized. At time to pay the bill we asked if he could split the bill amongst the family groups of three to four people he said no he couldn’t do that but said “ so split the check into 4 quarters. I ended paying $148 for a 1 pizza, 1 burger and two drinks. Way over priced for mediocre food.

I am not really a pizza person but Wheat and Water was wonderful! The crust is very delicious and everything was well seasoned. The service was nice and the restaurant is a great spot to watch any game night with TVs on most walls. The buffalo wings were super crispy and enough spice to make your nose run and still delicious! The drinks were too dry for our taste but at least you get your moneys worth in alcohol. The mozzarella cheese on our margarita pizza was not melted which made it tough and over powered to pizza. Overall though we will be coming back.

Far be it from me to question the process of a pizza master's ultimate machinations, but it sure seemed like this place just dumped half a can of dole pineapple (including the juices) onto a sad ham sandwich, impersonating a slice of pizza -- then decided to charge innocent people $27 for it. A war crime? No. But definitely an affront to any person brave enough to dine here.

The waitress was nice and switched out our imitation Digiorno pizza for a new one, but the margarita also left a lot to be desired.

Bummer bc there aren't many restaurants in the area and this one had potential, aesthetically

We decided to try this place, as we were in the area and looking for a beverage and a bite. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, and the service was good.

Menus are still QR code-only, which is meh. We went with an order of Brussels sprouts, which were acceptably tasty, but honestly, among the oiliest I’ve ever had. I don’t feel that the prices match the quality of the food. A side of French fries is $12!

If you’re in the area, I’d recommend, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

I had reserved a table for outside dining at 6:30pm (perfect for that cool late spring evening). The patio was nice with high-top table stools that gives you a view of the main drag. Note: watch out for the table splinters catching your clothing There is an extensive beers on tap list and pretty good list of wines by the glass (although pricey compared to other places). The pizzas were well-prepared and the combos were compelling.

I’ve been here twice and had good service when I went around 5pm on a weekday but when I went on a Saturday night the service was so bad that I won’t be returning. We were seated for over 30 minutes without being seen by our waiter even though it didn’t seem super busy. After ordering, our food and drinks took an additional 25 minutes. The chef (not the waiter) very apologetically delivered our food and our drinks came out after. The food was good, slightly overpriced, but after the bad service we won’t be coming back.

Wheat & Water has just the greatest atmosphere, kind staff and such delicious food that the good times were flowing! Great location in Birdrock on La Jolla Blvd. super close to the beach and in the heart of everything Birdrock has to offer. Such awesome indoor/outdoor seating as well. It’s a must try!
