We’ve been trying to cancel our timeshare agreement with Welk/Hyatt Vacation Club for over a year now, and we are beyond frustrated with the lack of progress. Despite repeatedly contacting the company and expressing our desire to exit, we have been told that no options are available at the moment. All they’ve done is “register our interest,” but nothing else has been done to help us move forward.

We’ve been in touch with multiple representatives, including Hutch Farrell and Kaymari Vales, yet we remain stuck in this process. How much longer are we expected to wait to resolve this? The lack of action on their part is unacceptable.

When we signed up, the sales presentation was misleading. We were led to believe that the exchange process would be simple and that there would be plenty of attractive options available. However, we quickly realized that accessing the best resorts required an extremely flexible schedule—something that was impossible for us as parents of four school-aged children, both juggling demanding jobs. This was critical information that was not fully disclosed during the sales pitch.

At this point, all we want is to cancel this agreement and bring this ordeal to an end. We’ve been patient for well over a year, but enough is enough. Welk/Hyatt Vacation Club, please provide a path forward to resolve this issue. We need a resolution now, not more waiting.

Be prepared to be treated like a stepchild if you don't own at this resort. I called before booking because the website had two different resorts listed at the same address with totally different pictures - one with much nicer rooms and amenities and the other with outdated decor and furniture. According to the Welk staff, there are two resorts on this property (one that is upgraded and the other is not). So, I reserved an upgraded two bedroom through Interval. Upon arrival, we were assigned an outdated one bedroom which I assumed was an honest mistake so when I advised the front desk they put me in the wrong villa, they told me they would see what the mgr can do. They put us in another outdated one bedroom that was worse (dusty and dirty).
I called the front desk again, they told me the place was totally booked with no more rooms. This was a lie because I clearly observed and saw there were plenty of empty rooms with lots of available parking spaces. During conversations with a few other visitors, of the ones that didn't own, they experienced the same issue. One of the couples told me they were moved to one of the nicer villas after they purchased ownership there. During my stay, I went through the sales session and learned that only a few villas underwent renos and were upgraded. They told us that a nights stay runs around $600 a night (my husband found online prices at $250/night). The property grounds and half of the scenery is nice (can see the freeway and noise on the other half). We were quoted almost 30 thousand to purchase ownership of a 2 bedroom. My husband, who wears hearing amplifiers, heard a salesman quote 42 thousand to another couple for the nicer upgraded 2 bedroom. So my husband asked our salesman if our quote was for the upgraded or outdated room. After a brief pause, he told us that it would be whatever is available and that we could pay an upgrade fee. My husband and I frequent southern California and would have purchased here if we had a better experience and were quoted a reasonable price.

I typically avoid leaving negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. This property is located in a deep canyon, which makes cell service unreliable for many carriers. I use AT&T, and the signal was extremely poor. I relied on the free WiFi to stay connected, but it was incredibly frustrating. The WiFi would work for a few minutes before disconnecting, making it nearly impossible to use. When I reached out to the front desk, I was told they couldn’t address the issue directly as it’s managed by a third-party IT support team, who were unresponsive. Unfortunately, I had to deal with this poor internet connection throughout my stay, which was disappointing.

We own here and take every available opportunity to stay when we are in the area. The resort was kind enough to offer a full, complimentary Friendsgiving. We had a wonderful weekend and were able to invite local friends and family (my parents and childhood besties and their families were all able to coome out!!! ❤️❤️❤️) Cannot wait to return for our next family vacation and see what our next stay has in store for us 🩷🩷🩷 We absolutely love it here. The resort is magical 🥰

Great location. Tons of pools and rec centers here. Lots of activities for guests. Golf is a great deal. Villas are a decent size but need some updating. Dishwasher in unit is a bit scary. Not sure I want to use it.

I'm dropping the rating down to four stars because the condo had ants and the internet was non-existent for two days. Otherwise, it's large, lovely and well equipped.

The property was beautiful, the service was not. After having been settled in for a week long stay, on the 3rd day we were asked to relocate to another room… water was leaking from the ceiling in our bathroom. The relocation happened at a time while my wife was in the kiddy of her work day remotely, and I was not at the property. The concern of the employees was inconsistent. Those on the maintenance staff, and the person that came to help us relocate, were very helpful. The front desk staff were not. One demanded that we move immediately, which was not possible for my wife to stop working and I was not there to help. It took a great deal of effort, and frustration, to get support with the relocation. And the front desk did not offer compensation, let alone an apology, for the relocation and inconvenience. Once having brought to a Front Desk supervisor our concern about not being compensated, they offered an unusable resort credit. It was unusable because we’d planned ahead and brought our own food for our week long stay. We were then promised that the credit could be turned into a gift-card, and told that things would be taken care of the next morning. We then got the ‘run-around’ treatment for the next 3-days. The person that had made the promise, and said that they’d take of things in the morning was actually scheduled to be off the next 2-days. So now we were stuck with speaking with that person’s supervisor who refused to adjust their compensation. We then sought out to speak with that person’s supervisor, the head of the Front Desk staff. This person was responsive, apologized for our inconvenience, and showed empathy. But it’s sad that it took 3 days, to both get an apology, and to speak with someone that actually followed through with their promises.
