Worst breakfast ever! Husband said he picked over and choked down what eggs he could. They were supposedly scrambled but mostly egg whites that were under cooked and runny. Pancakes were burnt on one side and not even cooked on the other. French toast had very soggy texture, so much so that the only bite I took of it I spit it out in my napkin. Sausage links were either deep fried or had been sitting under heat lamp all morning. Biscuits were flavorless. Just terrible and highly disappointing after this was listed as a must try place in T Town.

Best breakfast in Tuscaloosa, hands down. Love the food, the atmosphere, and the history. I got country ham, red eye gravy, scrambled eggs, grits, and homemade biscuits. The food was great. My server was fantastic. There is a lot of history with the atmosphere here. I may not be one of the regulars, but as much as I can when I am in town, I will be a regular.

GREAT place to stop for a REAL old fashioned breakfast and DELICIOUS! Biscuits are soft and touched by angels. The red eye gravy is just like I remember my grandma making and the tomato gravy was amazing. I’ll be making a plan to stop here again!

We had a delightful time here.
The service was excellent, the food was exceptional and the ambiance was captivating. The trifecta of a great experience.
The coffee was very good, it smelled on par with morning aromatherapy. The biscuits were the stars of the table and were truly fantastic!
It's truly refreshing to see such pride on display in the post pandemic world were indifference has become the new norm.
Would highly recommend a visit.

We came in for the Mizzou v Bama game and got this place as a recommendation from a cousin. It was… PRIME recommendation material I mean let me pop off for a second.

First, and foremost the service was fantastic. Attentive, good recommendations, coffee cup never went cold or empty. Everyone was friendly and all the staff spoke to our table and made us feel incredibly welcome.

Second, food was on point. Had grits in Georgia - terrible. Grits here? Dynamite. Coffee, biscuits and eggs were perfect. 4 of us got full plates with more than enough food (and coffees) for $48 which is another major W.

Third, they talked football with us in a delightful and gracious way - as road fans NOT a given. I will DIE ON A HILL that this place deserved all the business it can get and the servers should be tipped well. The theme was very Alabama football, and I hope they lose today, but otherwise cream-of-the-crop, A1 southern-hospitality. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion however, if you left a 1-star review… bless your heart but grow up.

The food was modestly priced, which I appreciated, but the skin on the plantation sausage was really hard. Also, the place had a faint smell of mildew.

The waiter was great and super friendly. We were thankful that there was a place open so early! I teach school, so it's hard for me and my fiance to find somewhere to sit down and eat in the morning before work. I will be going back.

I haven't eaten there in quite a while and was looking to go pick up breakfast. Since this was going to be a to go order I wanted to look at the menu prior to arriving. But all the menu pictures people have posted were either blurry or to small for me to read. Trying to zoom in on the pic only made it blur out once more. I would think that a restaurant with the history of the Waysider might actually put clear menu photo's somewhere. But if they did I was not able to locate them. Only real online presence they seem to have is a face book page. But once more no menu photo's so does me little good. I understand this restaurant is a tradition and maybe don't want to change things that have been working. But this requires very little effort on their part and I would think it would be a benefit to old and new customers. But since they can't be bothered to make an online menu available I won't be bothered in going back.
