I am in the oil and gas business. In this business you move around A LOT. Usually going from hotel to motel. When I received word I was transferring to Monroe County, OH I Googled hotels in the area. The Victorian Rose was one of the first places to pop up so, I called. Wow, I am so lucky I did. I spoke with Linda, one of the owners, and confirmed my reservations. As soon as I arrived I felt like this was going to be my home away from home. I was right. What a wonderful change from the hotels and motels I am used to staying in. From day 1, Linda and Jerry made me feel like part of the family. They are so accommodating. Their home is immaculate. Very cozy. After long days of traveling the back roads of Ohio and conversing with the many land owners about the oil/gas under their properties, coming back to the B&B is like coming home for the evening. Not to mention the breakfasts Linda cooks up. Quiche one day, Belgian waffles another. A new treat every morning!! And always fresh fruit and home-made muffins on the counter. I am very grateful to have found this gem. I have stayed in B&B's all over the country. I usually try and leave feedback for all of them afterwards. Some I've stayed in should not even be operating as such and I do not hesitate to say so. For the Vic Rose however, I could not find one negative thing to say about this place for the life of me. With not many choices for accommodations in the area, you do not want to miss this place. Once my project in Woodsfield is up I already know I will be coming back to stay at the Victorian Rose for a weekend getaway!!

We were in town for a friends wedding and stayed 2 nights in the rose cottage. 2 other friends of mine stayed in the house on the top floor. We had never stayed at a B&B before and weren't sure of what to expect but the owners were so very nice and everything was clean and comfy. Plenty of space and our own bathroom. The prices are very reasonable. We stopped in for breakfast on Sunday morning before we left town and the homemade breakfast Linda and Jerry made for all of us was DELICIOUS...and beautiful! lol I wish I would have taken a picture of the food. I absolutely recommend this place! Jerry even has his own bees way down in the backyard and they make their own pints of honey to sell. We bought one and its the best tasting honey i've ever had. I wish I would have bought a couple to give away as gifts 🙂

We happened upon the Victorian Rose B & B on a recent visit to southeastern Ohio. Linda & Jerry, the inn keepers are warm and friendly. Our restful room was comfortable and immaculately clean. There were no conflicts with the shared bath among the other guests. Lady Gray, the resident cat, added an additional charm. ||||The Victorian Rose is an easy walk to several restaurants, including Buenos Amigos, a Mexican restaurant under new management, that we thoroughly enjoyed. Hola!

Just came back from a stay at the Victorian Rose. I enjoyed my stay and if you sit on the porch of the cottage you can enjoy the wildlife the birds, squirrels and deer that make their rounds thru the neighborhood. I felt like it was a home away from home. Every thing in the small town is within walking distance. Jerry and Linda were delightful and shared some of the history about the area with me. I really enjoyed my visit and felt safe. I definitely would stay there again. --MRR

In June, I had to be in Ohio for three days. A friend said there were two choices in the area - option one being an old fashioned outdoor room entry Motel and option two a B&B called Victorian Rose. Even though I'm a macho guy, I still prefer the security of inside room entry so I went to the Victorian Rose web site for more details. First, the web site was a slow loading. Then I read a no charge "continental" breakfast. "Continental" immediately conjured thoughts of luke warm coffee in Styrofoam cups, stale mini-doughnuts and rock-hard bagels. And finally the price was under $100 a night. I'm used to paying $150 and up for a nice B&B. You get what you pay for, right?||||WRONG!!!||||This place was sooo much better than I expected. First the house is beautiful and immaculate. Its located on a quiet side street with a wonderful front porch (see my pix). The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom (shared with one other room - never a conflict) worked perfectly - clean, lots of hot water in the showered claw food tub. And breakfast? Coffee in china; high quality OJ, five different cereals; fresh bananas and strawberries and a homemade side dish each morning - quiche; homemade muffins; and cinnamon rolls next. All served in a lovely dining room. Continental breakfast? No way.||||Its fortunate Linda and Jerry's (interesting and nice people - my wife and I spent two hours chatting with them on that porch one beautiful evening) strength lies in their inn-keeping rather than web site building. My wife and I had three beautiful days with them.||||PS Out of our 75 or so B&B stays, the Victorian Rose was the best value ever.||||Take a look at my pix if you doubt that.

My husband and I stayed at the most cozy and private Rose Cottage. It is detached from the larger B&B. It was ver spacious with a double bed, kitchenette, living room area and private bath. The innkeepers, Jerry and Linda were very hospitable.

Linda and Jerry always create a great family environment for us when we come to town to visit family. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and always clean. Jerry can point you in the right direction for locally grown Omish products too. Ask him where to get Ohio syrup just outside of town. ||Unfortunatly, we just found out they will not be open for holidays any longer. 🙁

I have stayed here for family reunions, weddings and funerals. The owners are down to earth good folks who will go out of their way to help you in any way they can. The beautiful setting, comfy rooms, beautiful front porch with a swing, it all sets the mood. Whether you are out to have a fun vacation or need to just find some peace in your soul, this is the place to be.
