Was there on 5/29/24 with my wife while our teenager and their girlfriend were at the NF concert. Could not have had a more enjoyable experience! First and foremost I want to say our server Josh was amazing! He said he had just started 3 days ago and was so personable and on top of everything. I especially liked when my wife and I were eating our churro cheesecake (highly recommend) and he said he had been working his way through the menu but still needed to get to the cheesecake.
This to me is the sign of a dedicated server and a great establishment when employees make it a point to know the menu by taste.
I had the mahi tacos and will rave about the pineapple salsa to anyone who will listen. My wife enjoyed the signature taco platter and had plenty of leftovers. Will be back from Huntsville whenever we can!!!

PS: the bathroom was handicapped accessible, which I was very happy about as a wheelchair user.

Very clean, well designed place in a perfect spot in city walk near downtown Birmingham. The service was great and the food was very good. Would highly recommend the Cuban sandwich, quesadillas, and the tacos.

Came here again. I believe in second chances. The food was served cold. I ordered a dragon fruit mojito and it tastes like straight mint. Well the glass was 35% mint and water. Maybe a new bartender. Our waitress was excellent: courteous and knowledgeable. All of us ordered tacos and the food was room temp. I ordered the blackened Mahi tacos (2), it came with Spanish rice and col we slaw. The Cole slaw was supposed to be cold. The blackened Mahi was supposed to be hot like it just came off the grill and the rice is supposed to be steamy. I cannot... The fries were decent, had a sprinkle of corn, but it said loaded fries that were semi warm.

Went on a Friday night with my bestie. Shared the Garden Vegetable fajitas and they were so good! Had purple cauliflower, onions, tomato, bell peppers, spinach, and squash and more. Flour tortillas were perfect. Then we finished off with some margaritas. You can get TOWER of margaritas here instead of a pitcher. It's fun and different! The staff was super friendly and held a polite conversation with us for a bit.

atmosphere, amazing staff, amazing food, and amazing drinks… big W across the board ?. We planned to just grab food to go but while we waited we decided to grab margs, hence the margs picture but also the tacos in a take-out box. We got a salad and the fried chicken tacos to go and ordered the some margs while we waited for our food.

The drinks were great and the food was busssssin! The tacos slapped and the hot honey sauce was to die for, like literally. The salad was also enjoyed, it was “inhaled” before any pic of it could be taken. Overall, super great experience. Uptown Cantina is a bop!

Also, the front staff are super polite! We asked about food recommendations based on preferences, which is how I ended up getting the fried chicken tacos, they were delish!!

We get to the restaurant around 7:15. The outside dining area is closed and when we ordered our drinks according to the manager, one of us could not order a non alcoholic beverage; the manager explained , they did not have any non-alcoholic glasses ordered yet. We ordered the trio of salsa and Queso dips and all ordered the shrimp tacos. Every single diah was cold as hell. Nothing was warmed up or prepared fresh, rice cold, shrimp on the Tortillas were cold, The drinks we ordered were the mojito and a passion fruit frozen drink in a mini glass. The only thing great was our server, he accommodated us and gave great service. That food was for the birds. I have been to Carina before, what happened, Management and staff?

Check this place out!!!!!!! My mom and I went for lunch, and we were beyond impressed. The best guacamole EVER. Dont believe the reviews that say the portions are small and food is flavorless. I had the cuban, and my mom had some steak dish, and we couldn't finish either of the dishes. Yes, it is pricey for Mexican food they claim to be tex Mex, not Mexican, and this is upscale and in downtown bham, so I expected the prices and didn't think of them as outrageous.

Went with a friend and our waiter Nicholas was incredible! He was very kind and complimented my outfit, as well as our choice of food, and gave us space to eat and talk amongst ourselves comfortably without interrupting. I ordered the brownie and my friend the stuffed nachos with chicken and both were incredible! The brownie was a bit hard at the bottom but tasted great overall. The music was nice and not overwhelming
