This eatery is by far one of the very best I have tried! It has a nice variety of items on the menu, those that I tried are quite delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ms Octavier Pippins was our cashier and she is very sweet! I definitely recommend this place! Will come again!

Nice clean place. Good food and coffee was great. Nice friendly service and nice to explain about food and beverages! If I get a chance I will for sure go back! I had the Hashbrown Casserole with Sausage Patties.

The food was food. The service was top top notch. I liked the potatoes Hash Browns. I'm not a big fan of the veggie bowl, which was heavy on the eggs' super light on the veggies

Ive been to this place a few times by myself and with boyfriend, and it’s always something. First, the they over charge you and don’t get your order right. Today I ordered the Up-Down platter with no eggs, grits w/cheese, bacon and toast. I was charged 2.69 for the potato bites, and 0.59 cents for the cheese I didn’t get. You can clearly see no cheese in the grits, toast can take your teeth out it’s so hard, bacon over cooked, and I didn’t get my grape jelly. I had to find a packet in my kitchen. I paid 11.73 for 4 items, and I didn’t get cheese, so they basically not only over charged me, but didn’t add what I paid for (the nerve) ‍♀️
They can substitute the eggs for the potatoes bites, because it was done before and I paid 9 something. I paid 11.73 for 4 items that was either over cooked or I didn’t get at all. They can keep that 0.59 cents as a tip, because thats all they deserve. Thats the last 11.73 they will get from me. You can cook a better breakfast at home for 11.73. I feel like I was robbed but its fine, its a reason why those people work at restaurants, because if you can’t read you can’t do anything in this world. Like its simple high school stuff to read and repeat orders, but I knew better. Im cooking my own food.

The Food: Chicken biscuit was delicious. Fluffy and buttery biscuit with great flavor. The chicken was crispy but NOT overly battered and greasy like a fast food spot. The cinnamon roll was fresh and homemade just like momma does it. The iced white mocha was on par with your favorite coffee spots but for a hometown price. All of these items and I paid just $12.

The Service: The lady at the register was incredibly nice. She asked for my name and called me by name the entire time I was in the restaurant. She had a big smile on her face with good eye contact to go along with excellent pragmatics and it really made for a pleasant morning and experience. Coffee was made instantly and I waited no longer than 5-6 minutes for my food.

The Atmosphere: First and foremost, the restaurant was very clean; from the dining tables to the kitchen you could tell that cleanliness is a priority. The dining area really has a “small town diner” feel to it with people enjoying their morning and taking their time to drink coffee and warm up. However, with the coffee bar to the left and bustling workers in the kitchen behind the register, it really presented with a modern coffee shop feel as well. Also, one of the worst parts about your typical hometown coffee shop is you typically have to drive downtown and deal with awful traffic and really go out of your way. That’s not the case with Up Down. It’s located off of the main road with a service road back behind it for easy access and red light to get you back on track.

In totality: 10/10 can’t wait to try it again!!

My girlfriend and I loooove trying new places while traveling. We stopped by for lunch (twice) while staying at the Hyatt Place a few blocks down. Came in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted with warm energy and beautiful southern hospitality.

Octavia helped us place our orders with such a huge smile and a wonderful vibe.
Our second time coming back, we felt like family! She was like “hey y’alllll, so good to see you again!!” Hahaha.

I had the UpDown Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries, and my girlfriend had a Turkey Panini w/ Pepper-jack cheese, and fries as her side. Though we didn’t necessarily love *emphasis on love* our wrap/panini as they came, adding fries into them made them soooo much better. As well as some salt.

We also both had the Peach Mango smoothie (and our second time coming), I had a Peach Mango Strawberry smoothie.
1000% the BEST smoothie I’ve had in Columbus. McDonalds always breaks my heart with their smoothie machine “not working”— but these guys heal it right up.

Cant recommend this place enough!

I would highly recommend Up Down over any “chain”. Our food (breakfast) was simply delicious. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect. We are just here for the MSU game so unfortunately we will not be able to become “regulars”. Hoping this post will inspire you to support a locally owned restaurant rather than a national chain.

I visit up-and-down today for the first time. Miss Sierra was so sweet, nice, and helpful. I will be visiting them again. I love the food , the service, and the atmosphere.
