For three nights, we were guests of one of the ownership families. The road from Highway 3 to Mountain Meadow is a bit of an adventure in itself and, as a result of the wildfire of 2021, passes through many miles of scorched and devastated forest. The Mountain Meadow property remains fully intact, however, still exuding all of its rustic charm while providing an excellent "off the grid" experience. Everything needed to ensure a luxury stay in a wilderness environment had been thought of and was made available, including warm companionship, great food and charming accommodations.

I hate leaving reviews for places I absolutely love for fear they will be overrun. We travel a good deal as a family and this is by far our favorite week of the year. It’s tough to explain this place - but if you love the outdoors, love amazing home cooked food, love to watch your kids play in forts and on tire swings - then this is your place. It’s setting is unparalleled, the hiking is incredible and the families who run this lodge truly love this place.||This is not for high maintenance people looking for a four seasons equivalent. It’s a mountain lodge — extremely clean and comfortable — but you almost feel you have the honor to share the experience with those who run it rather than the other way around.

Owned by a family in the SF bay area, only about 10 of the 17 week season are available to outsiders. But once you've visited, you'll feel like one of the family. Folks are very friendly and there are many returnees. ||The Coffee Creek road turns to dirt after a few miles and it takes the better part of an hour on the dirt to get to the resort. But it's worth it. Beautiful setting in the high 5000 foot meadow of the Salmon River valley below the Sawtooth mountain range on the border between Klamath and Shasta national forests in the Trinity Mountains. ||Great hiking trails, many of which are quite long and many with 1500 to 2000 foot elevation gain. Great mountain views, meadows, lakes. The loop trail along the upper Salmon River is the easiest to start with. The staff and guests will be happy to advise.||Very child friendly.||Minimum of a week stay but if they're under booked, as they were in our case, you might be able to sign up for less. ||All three meals are served family style and, again, everyone was friendly when we visited. Remember, you are at least an hour away from the nearest town. ||Culture of the place is very family-oriented and off the grid. ||Cabins are spacious and well furnished. Too nestled in the trees for me to get a good photo to share.

Trinity Mountain Meadow Resort is a very special place. It is run by several families for only a 6-week season each summer. I would describe the property as a hiking retreat with childcare--perfect for families. You book a one-week stay, and during the stay all food (which is absolutely amazing) is included. After a long drive in (this place is not close to anything) you park your car and won't touch it for the week. ||||Each morning there is a home-cooked breakfast. Lunch is packed as a sack lunch for hikes, or eaten at the lodge. Dinner is a special event--first is a "kids" dinner followed by a grown-up dinner, while the kids are entertained by the rec staff. My kids (ages 5 and 9) absolutely love this set up. Of course, the adult dinner is a real treat as well! During the day, there are incredible (and quite challenging) day hikes to take from the lodge. Childcare is available (for an extra fee) on monday, wednesday, and friday for kids who aren't up for big hikes. Other days are perfect for shorter hikes or swimming in the river. ||||Mountain Meadow gives guests the opportunity to disconnect. There is no internet, and the resort is off the grid--powered by generator during the day, but without electricity at night. I love that my kids never get bored here, despite the lack of electronic devices. I love that my biggest worry each morning is choosing which hike to take, or selecting my sandwich type for my brown bag lunch. I recommend going with friends or extended family--we always go with our good family friends--and it is a wonderful way to spend time together without worrying about planning/cooking/clean up etc. ||||I cannot recommend Mountain Meadow highly enough. We feel lucky to have found this place.

My family has been coming to Mountain Meadow for over 30 years! We rarely miss our week. Albeit a little off the beaten trail, it's more than worth the journey. Tucked in a valley with an amazing mountain view, there are activities for everyone. There is great fishing and hiking nearby. ||||Anyone looking to check out for a week should definitely check this place out!

This is the place for family fun. If you are looking to disconnect, no cell phone, no wi fi no electricity this is it. Just friends, good fun and tasty food. You can sit and enjoy the view in the adirondacks on the porch, try your hand at ping pong, swim in the solar heated pool, go for an easy hike or a real butt kicker. We also took our mountain bikes and found plenty of places to ride. Many of the great hikes of this region connect to this area so take your camera and a good map. The kids can play all day in nature and find new friends. The cabins are rustic yet comfortable and the lodge is cozy. It is family owned and you feel at home the minute you arrive. Don't forget to look at the stars they will blow your mind. You have never seen the milky way like this.

I daydream about this place regularly. My experience and memories are probably much different then the rest of the guests; because in 2008 there was a large fire near that area - long hike in and out everyday - The forest had organized the crews to camp where we were hiking from, but eat at the ranch, including them making our lunches. Let me just say that outside the views of this area which area amazing, the food at the ranch would make me go back. I can remember eating till I was stuffed and being excited everyday to get down the hill to see what amazing dinner they had prepared from scratch; an amazing vegetarian option as well. The accommodations I cannot speak for outside the bathhouse and the main 'lodge'. The building is cute and rustic, and I remember a fully stocked bar that I couldn't partake in. The showers were ample and had lovely hot water. I wanted to take a dip in the pool as well but obviously being filthy from the fire that wouldn't happen. This place is amazing and I keep hoping that one day I will return as a guest. Till then do it for me! - And thanks to the ranch for being so accommodating!

Was closed but road was open. Honestly it's just so amazing, the little log built buildings in mountain meadows with creeks and high, rocky, snow capped mountains. Honestly was worth the drive just to see it, staying there would be crazy. Long drive though, far from civilization... ...but that can be a good thing if yyr looking for it. Kept running for summers for years.
