We arrived and night shift front desk lady was so pleasant to us. We got up to our room and there was vomit or urine or the base of the toilet and something floating in it. I called down and spoke with the front desk she did offer us a new room, but we had already started unpacking and It was a late night so she asked if she could clean it. The next morning I went to check out and the front desk lady told me I had a $0 balance because of the toilet. A week later I was charged for a whole price I call and speak with assistant general manager, Mykayla and she advises me that I was offered a $40 discount and I advised her I was not told that. She basically told me you just can’t stay here for free…. Actually she told me 2 to 3 times and then the last time she said that, you could hear a coworker in the background laughing as she made the comment she made to me. Such a power trip.

We are Marriott Lifetime Titanium Bonvoy members and have stayed at a lot of Marriott hotels for business and personal reasons. We were concerned by the reviews this hotel received but booked it anyway using points. We checked in before we got there. Our keys were ready for us in a basket by the front desk and were given to us without asking for ID. In retrospect I’m concerned about not being asked for ID.

Because of the reviews we went to the room without luggage so if we had to ask for a change it would be easy. The room was lovely and clean. Everything had been updated recently and meets Marriott’s standards. That includes the lobby, hallways, floors and elevator. We will definitely stay there again. There are also plenty of non fast food options in town. We enjoyed the Huntington Bar and Grill.

Nicely laid out rooms, comfortable beds, room kitchens are furnished for light cooking with the availability of additional kitchen supplies upon request, and a closet if you are staying for a bit of time. Appreciate the night light in the bathroom. Breakfast- cold cereal, instant oatmeal w/ fixings, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt and breakfast breads.

I'v been traveling on weekends from Indianapolis to Huntington to visit my Papa who's in Mary's Hospital with Stage 4 lung cancer. The hotel I normally stay at was completely booked so I had to find a secondary hotel to stay at. I was pleasantly surprised! It was like a little studio apartment! Very clean and comfortable with a very homey feel. Nice size refrigerator and little stove to cook meals. Furnished with everything you need to cook and wash dishes with. Bed was comfortable and complimentary shampoo & body wash was really good quality. The little coffee pot, toaster and full size microwave was a nice touch. Much more of a comfortable stay than my previous hotel. The staff was wonderful! I'll absolutely be staying here again! If you're in the area and looking for a quality place to stay I Highly Recommend giving this establishment a Go!

I decided to book a room for 3 days at this location. Then, decided to cancel the 3rd day. The lady at the front desk with a sling on was super-sweet and the house keepers were nice. Our room looked nice. However, it had a very strong chemical/cleaning product smell. We were happy, when we found out the window fully opened. We left the window open for the whole duration of our stay (two days), and the smell was still strong the day we checked out. We could barely stand it and have never experienced anything like that before. We would’ve requested a different room, but decided to stick it out. I didn’t want to create more work for the very sweet and kind lady at the front desk. We saw her both nights and could tell she pulled a double, while wearing a sling, due to a painful condition with her right arm. We say her bending over to write with her hurt arm, that’s in a sling. She is definitely puts her all into her job.

Note: We had a lot of filming to do, and we weren’t in our room for a majority of our stay. We thought the smell would subside after the first night. We came back in late on the second night and were shocked by how strong the smell still was. Not sure how it could smell so bad. Seemed like a house keeper dropped a mop bucket on the floor or something, but there were no wet spots. I walked past a cleaner’s cart and noticed a bottle that said floor spray. I really think a house keeper just went into the room and sprayed a lot of cleaner into the air. The floor in the bathroom had spots on it, which I was able to wipe off. So it’s not like the room was super-clean or anything.

This hotel was the best deal I could find. Our stay would’ve been much better without the smell.

Where do I begin

I'm here for a work trip (15 days). This is where my company chose to house me.

They are in a remodel, so you'd think "Hey, can't be too bad, right?!"

Wrong!!!

After working a 13 hour day, I get back to the room with a note on the floor that I have to move rooms!! WHAT?!?! All my stuff was unpacked for my trip and now I have to repack and move to the opposite side of the hotel. So... I get into the "newly renovated room" and what's renovated Paint, carpet, light fixtures and a newer stove... really?!?! THAT'S your RENOVATION?!?!?!

I get into my room, which is a 2 toom unit I'm sharing with a coworker and the door to my individual room has to be slightly lifted to close, (Same as the previous UNRENOVATED room). The new "light" they out on the wall wouldn't even light up Harry Potters room under the stairs. The lights hanging from the headboard (which was NOT new and is itself pulling off the wall) are LITERALLY hanging.. the outlet in the light barely holds onto any plug. The AC unit is the same old crappy one that's seen better days (BUT.. there's a new thermostat! 🙄)

I go to get a shower... and the only thing new in there is a curtain rod and shower curtain. The toilet handle has to be held down to flush. The tub drains so slow, that I was able to shower, get out, dry off, ger dressed and walk out and the thing was still draining!

Just noticed cobwebs in the AC unit... SERIOUSLY?!

Please, just stay FAR away from this hotel. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere MUCH nicer than this one!

I stayed here for 2-3 months because work and my experience was just horrible…the personal service at the front desk is just insane they lost packages that they received…super bad attitude and start making stories that we used to pretend the housekeeping’s. Seriously they are just nuts.

Love this place. TownePlace has become our favorite place to stay. Our first pleasant surprise was an outdoor swimming pool. I never liked indoor pools at a hotel. The pool was clean and warm! Amy took care of us while we stayed there for 3 days during our convention in town. We will definitely return to this hotel and hope to find Amy there.|Our room was very clean and this hotel is only minutes from downtown Huntington and near I-64 but without the highway noise.|The Browns
