Loved this beautiful inn. The host family was kind and professional. Very easy to talk to. The room itself was lovely and clean though there were many spiders likely due to the heat outdoors. I appreciated how normal everything was. It wasn't uptight like a hotel. For example, in a hotel, the towels are heavily bleached and stiff. These towels were soft and neutral smelling. There were also so many little home-like details including the unique tiling and access to common areas to relax with other guests without the hustle and bustle of a hotel.

While the building was lovely if a bit shabby and the Stickley furniture collection impressive, the greeting upon arrival was cold and unfriendly. The request for a non-egg breakfast was ignored. The location was very difficult to locate as the GPS does not pick up private roads and it's in a remote place. This B&B was not worth the money.

We spent four days at this cozy retreat in Topanga Canyon and left with great memories. It is far enough away to be an escape but close enough to enjoy areas such as Malibu, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. The family was warm and welcoming and prepared a filling breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed the spacious common area and views all around. This was our first time in Topanga and if we are fortunate to come back, we will stay here again.

A total Gem ! I was visiting the area for a retreat and needed to stay nearby for one night. We found this beautiful comfortable quiet spot, complete with all of the amenities and a fabulous breakfast as well. Beds are comfortable, pillows are great, its clean, it's cozy and quiet, plenty of privacy. The on site manager is the adult son of the family that built the home in the 80s. He was friendly and we felt so at home in this BB. I would FOR SURE go back when in the area. Topanga Canyon is a unique hippie community around hiking trails and gorgeous mountain scenery just a few miles from the most beautiful beaches in California. If you're looking for a unique spot this is IT !

I did do a review the first time I stayed but it disappeared so here's a new one. ||We've been here twice and both times we had a great nights sleep. It's wonderfully peaceful with no passing traffic. The beds are very comfortable. The place is immaculately clean and the houses furnished tastefully with their wonderful family artwork on the walls. The community breakfasts there are fun but Cafe 27 is just up the road if you don't want to commit to a breakfast time. Christian met us and checked us in and was very helpful with local info. We found the place easily using the directions on the confirmation. Parking is tricky but doable.

Pros:
- Pretty views
- Nicely appointed rooms, albeit dated
- Tasty breakfast

Cons:
- No signage for the bnb in an area with no cell service led to members of our party getting lost. Getting to reception area and knowing where to park were also confusing.
- Man who checked us in was very awkward and made us feel unwelcome.
- Members of our party did not sleep well due to creaky bed frames and bouncy mattresses.
- Generally didn’t get much of the warm, welcoming feel that is a highlight of staying at a bnb.

Reserved a Saturday overnight for our anniversary. This is about the only interesting place I could find within a few hundred miles find that doesn't require a two-night minimum on the weekend, and the only thing I could find resembling a hotel in Topanga. It's a charming & quirky place, but not quite what we expected. First off, it's further out than you might expect, a good 10 minute drive outside Topanga village, perched on a hillside practically inside the state park. You won't enjoy the cool lushness of Topanga Canyon here—it was probably in the 90s up there in the afternoon—and the views are of the state park, which is to say some rocky, scrubby hills which aren't the most attractive in July. To get there, you have to find your way up a narrow public road that turns into a very steep and poorly maintained private road. Parking is quite limited and tight. This is a true B&B, and you feel like you're staying in a bedroom in someone's private home, which it probably once was. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated but somewhat dated. We liked the vintage furniture and all the paintings by the owner's wife, and appreciated the dozen roses in the room that I had prearranged. The staff are the owner's children. They were courteous enough, but our only interactions with them where when we checked in and came down for breakfast, which is served specifically at 8:30 and 9:30. The owner, Warren, cooked us a nice meal, but ignored my several requests for vegan options, so all I got was some melon and coffee. Warren is a fascinating and colorful guy, and my wife enjoyed chatting with him for a good long while. We enjoyed being able to walk up the driveway and hike into the state park, for which they provided maps. One surprise was that we were forced to sign an statement that use of any drugs on the property, including cannabis, entirely legal in CA, would result in us being evicted without refund. Overall, it was a pleasant enough place to spend a night, and my wife seemed to enjoy it, but it sorta felt like we were staying at the home of a distant relative and couldn't quite fully relax.
