Just came to ski - didn’t stay at the hotel.

About 3 hours from DC. Come here on a weekday and it’s not crowded - I had the entire slope to my self several times. The lift to the top was fast and there’s a half mountain lift for night skiing.

A long beginner trail plus a couple of blues, the rest are black. I think there’s something for everyone. There’s also a dedicated area for lessons with a magic lift (conveyor belt)

Rentals were easy and everything was in good condition.

Lodge is decent and clean though I didn’t eat there.

Everyone was having fun.

One thing they could add is destination chargers, there some in the area but then you need to go hang out somewhere else for a while.

I had heard a lot of good things about Timberline mountain in the last few years, so I was really excited for my first visit. Given the weather in the days preceding our visit, I was really impressed with the conditions on the mountain. The groomers were still in work when the lift opened because of the early morning freeze, so each new run opened in about 15 minute intervals until the entire mountain was open.

The high speed, six person lift was amazing. There is an automated gate check prior to loading that allows you to stage the group you are riding with, and approach loading with the correct timing. The lift is very quick to the top.

All of the staff we encountered were great, and the lodge is a nice place for a rest and refreshment. We stayed at the Timberline Hotel, which was so convenient - right next to the lift base.

The only caution I would throw out would be for beginners on the mountain. Salamander is a very nice run from the top, but it does have a couple steep turns. As a beginner, unloading with 6 people can be intimidating even though it is a nice gradual off ramp. The mid station lift does offer some green runs, but all of these on the lower portion of the mountain combine with, or cross black diamond or blue trails. I wouldn't feel comfortable taking along a beginner and constantly be watching crossing/merging traffic. Just my two cents.

Otherwise, this place does live up to the hype. It is a very well run resort with some great terrain to fill a day on the slopes.

Came after some snow fall so there was plenty of fresh pow in the glades! Pretty packed on a weekend and only one lift to the top but is quick once you're actually on it. Cool tunnels to ski through too. Long beginner runs and steep double diamonds mean everyone can find something to enjoy.

Grew up skiing here, and it slowly went downhill with the previous owners, but since new management it’s improved immensely. Awesome skiing experience, and the people are always nice and helpful. The new high speed lift helps with the previous 15-20 minute ride to the top taking it down to now a 5+ minute ride. Under the new ownership, more runs are open since they’ve expanded and kept up snow making. All around, great experience and the first place I recommend to anyone looking for a place to ski.

Had a great day snowboarding with my adult kids today! I wish these activities were not so overpriced that a lot people simply can’t afford them. It’s really sad. That was probably my only day this year, but it was a good one.

Not only is this a great place to snowboard at the hospitality and service we received was amazing. While our day didn’t go as planned with a flat tire in the parking lot and then loosing our car keys we still had an amazing day on the slopes. After loosing our keys we then had to wait a few hours after they closed for a locksmith to come and program a new key and then drive 6 hours back home to Dayton. Timberline provided us with a hotel room to stay in temporarily while we waited and even brought us snacks since we couldn’t leave. The selfless service we received was amazing. This was our second time there and we will without a doubt we back

I enjoyed the place. They will make snow whenever possible unlike Vail resorts. I wish they had night time skiing from the summit. Night time skiing only covers the bottom half of the mountain and uses the lift that only goes halfway up the mountain.

The Ski resort in the middle of nowhere, in a very small town. Food choices are very limited unless you drive 30 minutes or more away to a bigger town. Skiing and hiking is really all you can do here. They sometimes will cancel for weather related things, which leaves you just hiking.
