I probably would not stay here again unless the updates were finished. Desk clerk had all the keys in a big pile on the counter. We were there for a funeral and had 4 rooms rented. 2 of the rooms the heat did not work and kept blowing breakers. The other 2 did not have that issue, strange set up for the shower, heads came straight down from the ceiling. Good thing was the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.

We went to check in and the office was closed with a phone number. We called the numbers and left messages. It was a freezing cold windy day and had to wait. A car pulled up and tried to call too. They thought the motel across the street might have been part of this motel since the name changed. They went across to check it out. They came back and had a man on the phone. We were told our rooms were NOT at this motel but the one across the street. Keys in the room, door unlocked. We got to the room and the cleaning gal was still there and no keys. We had to call since the gal did not speak English. We got the man on the phone and was told she will bring keys. While we waited, we turned up the heat. She brought the keys and we found the heat was not working. Again, we called the number. She also went to tell him. He told her the air conditioner was also a heater (window). We did not see anything for heat, only air. Again we had to call. The man said she will bring a space heater. She brought one. We tried to turn it on. It did not work. Again, another call to the man. He said she will bring another one by. We made her wait while to confirmed that this one worked. We left it on all night. The room was clean. We had to unplug the air conditioner unit to plug in the refrigerator. We left and had to leave the space heater on. When we got back, the room was warm. We left the heater on all night. We agreed we were thankful we checked in early since there were all these issues. The room was double the price that weekend since the university was having a family weekend. It definitely was not worth the doubled price. We also did not shower since the heat wasn't really in the bathroom. We were only staying 1 night and heading home early the next day. We only ever saw the gal and left the keys in a key slot by the office across the street.

The room itself was actually fairly decent, with a big king size bed and a small kitchen. Once we settled in however, we started noticing problems with the room. One entire wall didn't have power. The hot water barely worked. The TV was on a broken bracket. All of these things could have still warranted a three or even four star review. What really turned us off on this room was two things: First, the room was filled with a ton of flies. Second, the hotel was filled with migrant workers, a situation that other reviewers commented on frequently. Unfortunately these guests staying up very late, were very loud, and woke up very early. The banging on the walls continued until after 3 am and started again at 5 am, and included people sitting in the parking lot as well. You also really wonder what is going on when you see about ten people unload from a van and go into a room. Will likely not stay here again.

Would not ever stay at this motel again! First, we had to call to check in with a reservation. We could see a man inside the "office" (messy) who finally came to let us in to check in. We then got into a freezing cold room but the furnace heated up after an hour or so. The remote for the TV was missing. A gal brought us a new one which didn't work. The man in the office had said the door was unlocked and a key was inside. It wasn't and the lock wasn't functional. Got the guy to see it and he said he could fix it. He NEVER came back! My engineer husband rigged up a safe solution. The walkway and parking lot were ice covered and slippery, a lawsuit waiting to happen. There was junk all over and even a booze bottle left outside our door. We only stayed overnight because the sheets and bathroom were clean.

If all you're looking for is a good night sleep I can recommend this place however, it is Tiny and rustic. They are in the process of renovation. There was no soap in the room and one of the lights was not working correctly, you couldn't close the door on the bathroom without hitting the bed. There was a refrigerator and a microwave but it's hidden away in a tiny little area that doesn't have any light so use a flashlight. This is not a good choice for anyone who is physically challenged. There was no ice machine. Actually they were no amenities. Javier told me he would text me a receipt but after several reminders he never did.

The motel is a small family owned motel so if you are thinking about staying here keep that in mind. My room was recently remodeled. The floor was nice laminate. The bathroom had nice laminate for flooring as well. The sink was a nice pedestal sink. There wasn't much room to sit on the toilet. I had to sit crooked so I had room for my legs. The shower was small. The bars of soap they gave you were really small. I didn't shower because of that. If you stay here bring your own soap and shampoo. There weren't any extra rolls of toilet paper. I had to ask for extra which I got after asking. The air conditioner was nice. It cooled the room well. They keep the mini fridge off so you need to allow time for it to cool down which I didn't have an issue with. They have cable TV. The bed was comfortable. On the soft side. There were no bed bugs. They keep the plastic on the mattress. There wasn't a closet in my room but that didn't bother me. The room was on the small side but it's fine for 2 people. Any more than that I'd ask for a bigger room. The window and doors locked and there was a chain lock on the door so I felt safe. Over all it was a nice small motel. I would stay here again if I'm looking for a place to stay in the area.

It was a nice clean room. I didn't know the office didn't have "normal hotel" hours. They called to double check my arrival and had my key ready for me when I arrived. Grateful for that. After reading the reviews, I can agree with some of the quirks and cons. The baseboard heater cannot be controlled. The shower was luke warm at best. The pillows weren't the most comfortable. Weird sounds coming from the ceiling, even though there isn't an upstairs. Had to bring in an extra blanket from my car cause the ones on the bed were summer thin. Sliding screen door was tough to manage. Remote to the TV only had one battery.
