I spent two nights here with my daughter as a warm weather get away from the Bay area. You check in at the club, and then proceed to your room in an adjacent building.||||The Good: The room and bathroom were gorgeous. I loved the jetted tub- the one day in which we had hot water. We had a lovely meal with excellent service in the restaurant in Friday. The made to order breakfast in the am was delicious with a really nice chef. The grounds and pool were clean and quiet with nice flowers.||||The bad: No hot water on Saturday and Sunday in the room and the staff (at the desk in the club) was completely unresponsive and disinterested. Nothing was done, or even acted upon. " Yeah, that happens a lot" was their reaction.||||Although we were supposed to be able to use the spa facilities- it took quite a run around from desk to desk to actually be allowed in. No one seemed to know what was going on.||||All of the outdoor covered living rooms in the pool area were blocked off, we asked to use one- we were told that reservations had to be made 24 hours in advance. They sat empty all day. Food at the pool was overpriced, cold and soggy- no service at all. ||||There was a large wedding in the evening, some of the guests had managed to get into the pool area and were taking pictures in their nice clothes, a manager approached them and kicked them out- it was really over the top- I was so embarrassed for the guests and I'm sure it ruined what should have been a really special occasion.||The manager then escorted them back to the wedding, like they were prisoners- it was worse considering they didn't speak English that well( they were Latino). It even ruined my day just witnessing it. I was shocked that someone like that could be in customer service.||||For me, what makes a nice holiday is restful facilities, a stress free customer service and a pleasant ambiance. If you go to an upscale resort to relax and be pampered you want the staff to be responsive and amenities to be provided that would be expected at that price point.

Just spent two days at The Villas at Arden Hils. Our room was perfect. Anthony was a wonderful host and gave us personal attention. This will always be my go-to place when I visit Sacramento.

The Hotel/Bed and Breakfast Villa is beautiful. It is quite in a Residential neighborhood. You have access to a pool and tennis courts. Rooms are beautifully appointed. The rooms come with a fireplace and large bedrooms and bathrooms. You have a tub and separate shower. They have a large breakfast room. You feel like you are staying at a Italian Villa.

We had the St. Tropaz room for 2 nights. We were delighted by the grandeur of the villa bldg. but upon entering the room we were met with 80 degree heat and an AC that didn't work. So we opened the windows, 2 of which were broken and would not stay open, 1 window had horrible water damage you couldn't even see thru it. The carpet had several stains, noticeable stains which made me question the standards of the housekeeping staff. There is no concierge onsite after 7pm so if you have any issues with your room you're screwed.||I tried making the best of the night by jumping in the shower after a long day of travel to find the shower head covered in black mold and calcium build up. Gross. The towels are gym towels not luxury villa quality.||I could not get connected to their wifi and as many of us are now working remotely this was a big issue. I was exhausted and didn't want to search for another hotel late at night so I stayed and departed at 6:30am the next morning for a different hotel. When I talked to the concierge desk about a refund I was met with attitude, "you expect a full refund?" she said. Excuse me? You didn't deliver on what you advertised. You should be offering me a full refund and welcome me back for a free night! We will never stay here again.

I stayed in Valencia and it is pretty, but rundown. The heat did not work and neither did the gas fireplace in my room so it was cold at night. The bed sheet was covered with an old curtain. I was too cold to use the pretty spa bathtub, so do not know if that worked. I came in on a Saturday night and there was nowhere to eat. The young man who checked me in was no concerned about my discomfort. I stayed there for three nights, so got a good idea about the place. I complained and they took 15% off my bill. They thought my discomfort was worth around $150. This would not be acceptable at Best Western! There were some shady characters with nice cars who parked and hung out in back of the Villa building.

I booked a room at the Villas through the Arden Hills website. All reviews I saw boasted about the great rooms, excellent made-to-order breakfast, and good service. Since this is not a hotel, check-in was at the registration desk of the club, which was fine except the receptionist could only give me the keys but could not answer any of my questions, and "villa staff" was not available. Was told I would get a call back, but never did. ||Room was amazing and beautiful and elegant, and very large. Bathroom facilities were great, and soaking tub was lovely. If I was just rating the quality and feel of the room, it would be 5+ stars!||Next morning went down for my chef prepared breakfast, to find tables pre-set each with a plate of fruit, plate of cakes, and pot of coffee. Assumed this was just the starter, so sat and waiting for someone to take my order, but no one came. Kitchen was locked, and there was no staff around. I saw one other guest come down for coffee, and when i asked where the food was, she said "this is it". I tried to call the villa staff, but only got voice mail, and no call back. Went back to the club reception desk, who again did not know what I was talking about, and finally got to speak with the assistant to the villa manager; their chef left unexpectedly and so they had no one to make breakfast. This might have been understandable had they contacted me ahead of time to let me know, as I made my plans based on, among other things, not having to buy breakfast. The assistant said I should have received a call prior to my visit, confirming my reservation and advising me of the included breakfast not being available, but I had not. By this time, I saw that my credit was charged for my full stay plus about $40 more than what my reservation confirmation indicated, but the assistant could not answer why this was. I asked for the manager to call me, she never did. ||When i looked through the info packet in my room, it clearly stated the details of the full breakfast, with no update to their current situation. Other written info in the room indicated that daily housekeeping was not included (could be for additional $25/day). I was starting to see that these fancy accommodations were lacking and were not as advertised. ||After several attempts via phone and asking at the reception desk, I finally was able to speak with the manager. I told her all my issues (breakfast, overcharge, not being notified, disappointment with services, etc.), and she said she would look into it to see what she could do and get back to me. After not hearing from her, I tried calling again, only to have to leave a message, but did receive a call back from the assistant that guests were getting 15% off for the lack of breakfast. However, nothing about the overcharge, and 15% at this point was not good enough to satisfy me. ||After several back-and-forth, the manager finally was able to explain to me that the overcharge was a fee charged by some 3rd party (a reservation service?) that they have no control of or even see on their end. NO WHERE during the review of the accommodations or the reservation process was there ever any mention of a fee, nor was a fee alluded to or included on my reservation confirmation email; it was at no time indicated until i asked about it, and then only after asking several times without clear answers. I booked directly through the Arden Hills website, and not through a 3rd party. ||When i checked out, my issues with the manager still hadn't been resolved and she promised that she would work them out with me. I checked out on 8/7/21, and today is 8/26/21, and only now did I finally get a response from the manager, after I left her several messages over the past few weeks, including today, and she finally called me back. She did not resolve my issue to my satisfaction, and in my opinion, Arden Hills Villas did not make a meaningful attempt to make right by a guest who had such a disappointing and difficult to resolve experience. ||And on top of all that, a new charge from them appeared on my credit card 2 days after I left, and I do not know what for. Needless to say, now I have to get my credit card company involved.

I know this place very well for having taken family members here. The rooms are gorgeous. But, each time there was something wrong. For my 1st stay here, it was really less than average. We arrived at 11.15 to a disgusting room, with beds undone, dirty towels, used glasses of water, all tv cables unplugged, and a warm smelly charcuterie platter offered as an apology to the previous occupants. Room service came & when I left to let them do their thing I mentioned we had just arrived to that mess. When I came back an hour later, only the beds had been made & the towels changed. The stinky cheese platter was still there, the empty bottles of water, the used water glasses, the used soap bars, etc. Not sure they changed the sheets. The shower was so clugged that we had water till our ankles & the room was adjacent to source of water (fountain?) So loud that I had to sleep with earplugs. This guest house could be so much better if the owners actually cared. That's really a waste of a gorgeous space. And so disappointing for the price we pay a night!!

This was such a marvelous surprise! Family members surprised us with this |tremendous gift and the their generosity was exceeded only by the B&Bs facilities and service. We relished our stay in the St. Tropez suite. ||The prepared to order breakfast was exceptional. What a wonderful place to stay!
