I was booked to stay here with my wife and infant daughter. They informed me the day before check in that children 13 and under are not allowed. This is not listed anywhere on their website, but they offered to refund us due to the miscommunication. It’s been a month and no refund has been issued. Their phone number is disconnected and their emails just say that their front desk will be reaching out to me. I understand the child policy but it needs to be stated on your website and I expect better customer service. Really bad experience for us.

UPDATE - I was refunded and it looks like child policy verbiage was added to the website, changing from 1 star to 4 stars! Thank you for the quick resolution

Beautiful historic mansion that has been converted into a hotel. It is beautifully preserved with time appropriate decor and furnishings. The staff was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The room was very cozy and clean.

The Starrett House is one of the most unique houses we’ve seen and it was like stepping back in time to stay there. Period furnishings are attractive and the bedrooms have very nice beds with great new mattresses. Since it’s a Victorian era home it is fascinating to imagine living in the rooms with the lovely colors and wallpapers, and we enjoyed the idiosyncrasies. The town is fun with good restaurants to choose from and sites to see. We highly recommend staying here. We stayed in the Master suite which has the largest room and bathroom and it felt very grand and comfortable.

A wonderful experience! Step back in time and stay at one of the most famous & beautiful Victorians in the Pacific Northwest!

The sweetest family owns this rich pice of Port Townsend history. They couldn’t be more welcoming and generous. They have plenty of history to share about their home and community. They are are lovely hosts and stewards of this landmark and take complete pride in their service.

Each room is elegant and extremely comfortable. Everything you could want! How about a bathtub in the bedroom, a cozy robe, a crackling fireplace to come home to, coffee, tea and a daily voucher to the best bakery in town! The location and views are incredible.

I highly recommend staying at the Starrett House! Feel good about supporting a local family and the community they care so much about!

I have stayed at the Starrett House many times and love it so much. I have even had friends stay there as well! Always a pleasure and a highlight.

This house is beautiful and full of history. The owners have furnished the home with antiques that fit the Victorian asthetic while also being clean and well cared for. You can tell the owners love and take pride in this place. Ask them any question about the architecture, original owners, town history or Victorian Era and they will gladly tell you everything they know...and their knowledge is vast! They also gave great recommendations on where to eat, places to see in the area and current activities to do in town.
Would happily stay there again.

Historic and rich with stories of Port Townsend and the family who built this architecturally intricate home. Comfortable luxurious beds, comforters, pillows and furnishings. The sweet family who are your hosts interact sincerely and make you part of the family or leave you to your privacy. You are in the center of Port Townsend, easy exploring. Fun to take your golden room key to the Pane d Amore Bakery for Breakfast in the morning. Sneak up the spiral staircase with its amazing woodwork to your unique rooms after eating out at one of the many incredible restaurants Port Townsend offers. What’s not to like? Thank you sweet family you are making a difference ❤️
