It was my first time here and I had a great time. The cabins were my favorite thing. Everything was comfortable, organized, and clean. Personally, I didn't know they allowed kids, so that was the downside for me 😅. The spa is nice, but it wasn't as clean, at least not on my second time soaking. I found the same balls of hair I've seen the day before. Other than day my overall experience was good.

I took my good friend out to the Society Hotel in Hood River for a day trip for her birthday. I had a facial (so good!) and we soaked. The ambiance was wonderful! The grounds were beautiful. The landscape around the property was growing green with the Spring weather and it was as if we had gotten on an airplane to visit a foreign country. My only complaint is that as I was getting a facial, the staff was cleaning the locker rooms, opening every locker to make sure nothing was left behind. What this sounds like in the facial room is slamming doors over and over and over and over. I don't think the cleaning staff knows how much noise they make with the equipment they use. It was the opposite vibe of a spa experience. Luckily, it only lasted for half of my facial. (Don't book a facial mid-day when the spa is getting cleaned!) The lovely person doing my facial apologized for it, and my experience with her was OUTSTANDING! I got a signature facial. Highly recommend.

I’ve been rendered speechless by my solo stay here in a River Bunk for two nights midweek. The attention to detail and quality of staffing is stupendous. I can only name front of house staff - Jasmine, Debbie, and Jacob - that made my stay remarkable, but the grounds keeping and maintenance team members deserve mention as well. I feel like this place wouldn’t be the same without its people, and it seems easy to appreciate how much thought, time, and energy has been invested here. I respect that this hotel isn’t a cash grab, because if it were more expensive I wouldn’t have stayed here nor loved it so much. I can’t emphasize the devotion to detail enough because the only imperfection (in my mind) that was perceptible, genuinely, relates to soap dispensers at the spa which are adjusted to provide 3x as much as soap as needed; which results in spills on their unsealed concrete floor that will consequently degrade over time. How great it is to feel this wonderful and silly…

We had a great overnight stay for my husband’s birthday. I had just read about this hotel on the WW website and I was looking for a quick overnight with a indoor pool and and hot tub that is actually warm and hot (we seem to have bad luck with those) and I really loved how Society Bingen actually posts what they keep the temperature of the pools at (95° indoor pool/104° outdoor pool/54° cold plunge for the daring ). We booked a king standard and at first I was a bit hesitant about the shared bathrooms, but they have plenty and we never had to wait for one. I also appreciate the morning excellent coffee at the common room kitchen (shared by the standard/bunk room guest) which also has a refrigerator and microwave. We had a light dinner from the lobby cafe and our BLAT sandwich and grilled cheese and soup were delicious along with a good pint of larger. They have a plethora of board games stored in a wonderful old map cabinet and we had a few rousing games of “Life”. The rooms are nice and cozy, with robes. The bed was a bit hard ,but I’m used to a softer mattress. The only downside is you do hear the train whistle and the sounds of people in the corridor but they provide ear plugs so it really wasn’t that bad. Society Bingen is a unique experience that is a great mini get away or a wonderful stop along they way if your visiting the Columbia Gorge. We will definitely stay again.

My husband and I took a birthday trip out to the spa; it was glorious! The service we received both leading up to our reservation and during was stellar. The soaking pools were blissful, and they’ve truly thought of everything to make the experience easy and comfortable. I also feel like we did something good for our health and wellbeing~important as we settle in to middle age. I will be back!

What a magical place only an hour from Portland! The Society Hotel Bingen is a beautifully restored schoolhouse that oozes charm, and the cabins are thoughtfully arranged around a lovely spa facility—clean, easy to access, and requiring reservations, which I personally appreciated as a planner. I traveled solo with my dog and felt safe and comfortable at all times.

The cabins themselves are design-forward with such a thoughtful approach. One thing to note: there's an elevation gain with stairs, which made unloading my car a bit tricky with my dog since parking isn’t right by the cabins. Thankfully, the amazing staff provided a workaround, and there are carts to help, so it all worked out.

The landscaping is gorgeous, and there are covered walking paths, which is great if it rains. While the café can’t allow dogs inside due to health codes, there’s a spot outside to tie up your dog and tables for outdoor dining when the weather permits. Such a cool spot—I'm so glad I stayed here!

I enjoy this hotel and will continue to stay. All types of rooms are comfortable. The location is good as in- close to outdoor activities and I find it peaceful. I love the train. The amenities are good. The service is fine or bad depending on who's working. My issues are with the vibe. The hotel cant figure out what it's about. Because of the inconsistencies, you may or may not get what you're looking for here. Ive stayed when it was quiet and relaxing which is what I like in a "spa" experience, and loved it. Ive also stayed when there was a party of people, or a bunch of kids in the spa and it ruined my time there. I usually plan a mid-weekday to avoid crowds and kids. It's not a huge place, gets crowded quickly. If you're in the bunk rooms, ask ahead if there is a group in there with you or you will be sharing their party and not sleeping. The door to the rooms will disturb you all night. Its absurdly loud. (Add a slow close element to all doors, please!) The lobby is very comfortable but again, whats the vibe? Most of the time, people are working or reading which seems aligned with what they advertise. But other times, the music, groups and kids, kill the quiet vibe. If the music is too loud (usually is) and really upbeat, there is no way to tune it out. If the place is meant to relax, sometimes work remotely and sit by the fire with a book, the music should be aligned. I think the owners and staff need to have a sit down and figure out what the hotel brand is all about. Are you a spa/hotel that supports downtime and quiet relaxation or are you a party and big gathering place? If both, find a way to separate them. Right now, it's confusing. The problem is, you cant plan for your experience. If Im driving a distance to get there, I want to know what to expect. Right now I just show up and hope for the best which is really frustrating when the vibe is way too big for the space. Pick a lane and go all in, ya cant be everything to everyone.

Side note, the fireplace room is too hot, the bunk lounge area is freezing. Sounds ridiculous, but the temperature controls are unmonitored at best. That fireplace will leave you feeling like a well fed, overheated chipmunk.

Mostly good experiences keep me coming back. The spa is beautiful, rejuvenating and zen when not over crowded.

This hotel offers a very nice place for you to go to get away from everything but the rooms don't have TVs or anything and it's very quiet there. They have a pool and a gymnasium they have an inside coffee shop. Each room has a hammock of your own it's very nice
