The Sandman was a surprising little oasis that had great bang for its buck. The reviews about the soundproofing are absolutely correct; the walls/windows are very thin and you can hear people talking from in the parking lot. That was really our only complaint though, and nothing that isn’t fixed with some earplugs. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower amenities were really high quality. The room was clean and warm, with a fridge and a microwave, making our stay very comfortable. The staff were really helpful; our safe was broken and it was replaced immediately, and the front desk brought towels to us at the pool when we realized there weren’t any down there. The pool and hot tub were SO great and very welcome after a rainy day. Unfortunately we weren’t able to make use of the bar or yoga because we were there during the middle of the week in the off season, but they both looked like great amenities. The price is so great for what we got. Highly recommend this place, just bring earplugs!

The rooms are very clean and there's a nice swimming pool. But the guy working at the front desk when my friend and I were checking in was a complete dead beat. He didn't make eye contact or smile even once! Plus the mattresses were hard. If they got softer ones, that would be a big improvement and the staff at the front desk should be encouraged to make conversation with guests. Even a smile can make a difference in their lives.

The entire stay was absolutely wonderful!! All staff were friendly and helpful as they made sure our celebration was enjoyed by all. The property is clean and beautiful. Loved our rooms. Next time we stay longer and will hopefully be able to enjoy the outdoor amenities (stupid rain).

My son is disabled and uses a walker and I was so happy with our wheelchair access room. It was spacious enough for him to move, we had ramps and easy access, a walk-in shower, there is even ADA lifts for the pool AND hot tub.
The rooms were recently remodeled and updated, everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

We chose the Sandman based on their Instagram account and the price that didn't seem to be too high for the quality.

However, let me tell you that no one at their front desk wants to work there, this is probably the worst service we've experienced at a hotel. They don't want to answer questions, they don't know if there are bathrooms in the pool area, they don't know anything about the complimentary wine tastings with their wineries partners, and have a bad attitude. Thankfully, we were able to get a room on the second floor as requested, and not far from the pool.

This is really a motel. The rooms are well decorated and of decent size, but paper thins walls, uncomfortable bed sheets, very noisy. We had trouble sleeping as we could hear conversations and people walking.

The pool area is big and nice and the lady working at the bar was probably the only nice staff there. We also ran into a guy from the housekeeping team who looked at us two and said that he's been watching us "beautiful ladies" since we got here. Creepy. We preferred to keep the blinds closed at all times since we didn't feel quite safe during our stay.

I genuinely don’t understand how there are so many good reviews for this place.
This is 100% a motel, not a hotel. If those were my expectations I might have been less disappointed.

My husband and I stayed here on a roadtrip. The reviews and pictures made it seem great.
As soon as we arrived we realized how misleading they were.

Rooms are dirty. There was an old dirt ring in the bathtub which I scrubbed away myself before feeling ok enough to shower.
I’ve stayed at hostels cleaner than this.

The soundproofing is nonexistent. We could hear conversations happening outside as though they were going on in our room.

They slapped on some paint, upgraded a few finishes, took some good and well edited pictures and called it a day. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of these reviews were also fake.

I have stayed here many times (8+) I have never had any issues with any of the rooms, prices, or people being overly loud. It is located in central Santa Rosa and has a lot of history. I recommend this hotel because of the cleanliness, the price, and the accessibility to everything from the hotel.

Extremely nice for a good price. Far more amenities and benefits then any hotel I’ve stayed in for a similar price, the king with kitchenette is basically a studio apartment. Very cute decor, friendly staff and good location. Really excellent!
