I just had a lovely experience at Port Ludlow Resort. My son was on spring break and we wanted a getaway that wasn’t too far or expensive. The resort pretty much is the town, and for the most part, they have done a great job at creating a full service resort so that you do not have to leave. I love that they have dog friendly rooms and that we were able to bring our fur baby with us. I loved the extra little touches. They offer a sugar scrub station in the lobby bathroom, and stock the rooms with locally and hand crafted bathroom amenities like their bath salt soak. The jetted bathtub was a big hit for us. It made up for not having a spa on the premises.
We had a couple of delicious meals at Fireside. We had booked reservations for Seafood Sunday, but unfortunately they had ran out of the special and most dishes that we wanted by our 7pm reservation. Our alternative choices were delicious, and we went back for a scrumptious breakfast the next day. We ordered take out (room service was not offered on the menu) on the last day of our stay. We really enjoyed the avocado toast and buckwheat pancakes. Their farm to table concept is also very appealing. If I could offer any constructive feedback, it would be that the host staff might need a little polishing which may just be a lack of experience. We were seated for dinner twice in areas that had the glare of sunset light in our faces, and when we called in take out, we were not offered the option to charge to our room. The service at dinner by our waiter was superb and he found creative ways to make up for the limited menu items.
We also enjoyed renting a boat from the marina. Shawn in the office was very personable and helpful with answering questions and getting our time scheduled, and Larry was super helpful and patient with instructions while I juggled my son and dog for the excursion. I thought that the prices were reasonable and this made an excellent activity on a nice sunny day.
Before checking in, we enjoyed a nice hike at a nearby waterfall. I’m not a golfer, but I read that they offer free shuttle service to the course nearby.
The property is tidy, offers beautiful views of the marina and Olympic mountains. There is a nice loop for walking on the property. We saw a lot of wildlife and beautiful sunsets. The coffee in the room is actually decent which is a nice change compared to most hotels. Port Townsend, Fort Worden, and Finnriver Cidery were a short car ride away and made for a nice visit as well.
We will be back!
