Located at 2864 Pruden Blvd, Suffolk, VA 23434, and reachable at Phone: 579342311, this establishment warrants careful consideration.

Overview of The Nest Hotel Suffolk

The Nest Hotel Suffolk is categorized as a Hotel, primarily focusing on providing accommodation. However, based on current feedback, the hotel’s operational standards and guest satisfaction levels require significant improvement. The property’s design and initial concept aimed for a rustic-chic aesthetic, potentially appealing to those seeking a countryside retreat. Despite this ambition, the current state of the hotel reflects a need for substantial investment and management overhaul.

Location and Accessibility

The hotel’s location at 2864 Pruden Blvd offers a degree of seclusion, situated away from the immediate bustle of the town center. This may be a positive for guests desiring a tranquil environment. However, it also contributes to potential accessibility challenges. While not directly in the heart of Suffolk, it’s approximately a 15-20 minute drive to major shopping areas and restaurants. Transportation options within the immediate vicinity are limited, potentially impacting guest convenience. Nearby attractions, such as local farms and nature reserves, offer opportunities for outdoor activities, though these are somewhat offset by the hotel’s current shortcomings.

Key Features and Amenities (Currently Limited)

Currently, The Nest Hotel Suffolk offers the standard amenities expected of a hotel, though their quality and upkeep are inconsistent. These include:

  • Guest Rooms: Rooms are generally of a reasonable size but often require updates to furnishings and décor.
  • On-Site Parking: Adequate parking facilities are available on-site.
  • Basic Restaurant Service: A restaurant is present, although reviews suggest inconsistent food quality and service.
  • Limited Outdoor Space: The hotel has some outdoor areas, but these are not well maintained.

It’s crucial to note that the hotel’s advertised amenities are not consistently delivered, and significant improvements are needed in this area. The hotel's website is currently unavailable, indicating a lack of proactive online presence and marketing efforts.

Guest Feedback and Ratings

According to Google My Business, The Nest Hotel Suffolk currently holds 105 reviews, averaging a disappointing 2/5. This low average rating reflects significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest experience. A detailed analysis of the reviews reveals recurring themes of dissatisfaction, including issues with:

  • Cleanliness: Numerous reviews cite issues with bed linen, bathroom cleanliness, and overall room hygiene.
  • Maintenance: Reports of broken fixtures, malfunctioning appliances, and general disrepair are prevalent.
  • Service Quality: Staff responsiveness and attentiveness are frequently criticized.
  • Food Quality (Restaurant): The restaurant receives particularly negative feedback regarding the quality and presentation of the food.

It is important to emphasize that these are current perceptions and may not fully represent the hotel’s potential. However, significant corrective action is undoubtedly required to address these concerns and improve the guest experience.

Recommendations for Prospective Guests

Given the current feedback, potential guests should approach The Nest Hotel Suffolk with cautious optimism. Here are some recommendations:

  • Thoroughly Read Recent Reviews: Before booking, carefully review the most recent Google My Business reviews to gain an up-to-date understanding of guest experiences.
  • Contact the Hotel Directly: Attempt to contact the hotel directly via phone to inquire about specific issues and discuss potential improvements.
  • Manage Expectations: Understand that the hotel is undergoing a period of transition and may not yet meet the standards of a fully operational, high-quality establishment.
  • Consider Alternative Options: Explore other accommodation options in Suffolk, particularly those with consistently positive reviews.

In conclusion, The Nest Hotel Suffolk presents a challenging proposition for travelers. While its location and initial concept hold potential, the current operational issues and negative guest feedback necessitate careful consideration. Further investment and management changes are essential to elevate the hotel's standards and justify its existence in the Suffolk hospitality landscape.

The hotel's future hinges on its ability to address these shortcomings and deliver a consistently positive guest experience. Without significant improvements, it risks remaining a cautionary tale within the regional tourism sector.

Further investigation into the hotel's ownership and management structure may provide additional insights into the underlying causes of its current difficulties.

If I could give a zero I would, the room smell like smoke funk etc. Roach infested. The worst hotel I’ve ever been in. I advise you not to stay in this dump. I paid 70.00 which it’s not worth it. Staying here you might risk carrying roaches to your home or your destination! Omg please wake these people up to clean and fix their problems!

The Nest Hotel Suffolk is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. It turned out to be a dimly lit, dirty motel with no visible nighttime signage. The property was filthy, with chipped paint, rusty metal rails, and bugs crawling on the exterior sidewalks.

The front desk employee was rude and unprofessional, making me feel like an inconvenience. My room’s connecting door was missing a handle, leaving an empty hole for anyone next door to peek through. I found three German cockroaches upon entering my room and killed several more within minutes. It was clear the property was infested, making it impossible for me to stay.

When I reported the issue and showed pictures to the clerk, she apologized and assured me her manager would process a refund. Despite numerous attempts to contact the manager, I never received a response. After ten days, I was told they had a no-refund policy, and my request was closed.

This lack of communication and refusal to address my concerns was highly disappointing. I strongly advise against staying at The Nest Hotel Suffolk.

This hotel exceeded my expectations, there were no bugs except for a little cricket, the staff was very kind to my family, and the beds were comfortable enough. Plus you can't beat the price for being so close to shopping centers on North main street. The only downside I experienced was we were unable to connect to the wifi and the door was a little difficult to open with our key car but that could just be our room.

For the price this motel isn't bad. Yes it might be a little dated but I haven't seen one bug in my room, so the other reviewers might be wrong about some things. No it's not a Hilton so don't expect it to be for half the price of other motels in the area.

I would recommend that no one stays here we made a reservation & then called when we knew we'd be checking in late they said it was fine they had our reservation. Then when we got there they told us they had no rooms available. Just poor business all around & it shows up as two different hotels at the same address. Don't waste your time or money with these people we had been on the road for more than 17 hours & just looking to get some rest but had to drive another hour just to find a room. If I could give a 0 stars I would.

Positive: Relatively speaking, this hotel exceeded my expectations. For $--- a night, what do you expect? Every town needs a cheap hotel for the rest of us, and it was worth the money. Negative: ""

Showers were still dirty when we arrived. No soap, shampoo, conditioner or extra toilet paper, when i walked in only a half a roll was left. Towels and rags were stained up. Pool is still not open, needing inspection. Rooms are very bare, no mini fridge or microwave. Floors are nasty, looks like they only sweep them out. A bottle with cigarettes was left in my closet along with a gross piece of toilet paper. DEFINITELY NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES YOU SEE ONLINE!
