I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Morris Harvey House in Fayetteville, WV! The house is beautifully period-decorated, and the owners, Eric and Natalie, are incredibly warm and welcoming—it felt like staying with old friends. The location is perfect, right in downtown, and the downstairs speakeasy is a great spot for a drink. If you're looking for a unique, charming experience in West Virginia, this is the place to be. Highly recommend to cool people only!

I would give them no stars if I could. Absolutely rudest encounter I’ve ever experienced. My husband and 5 year old showed up for a one night stay around dinner as a pit stop driving and we were the only people there. We then encountered the rudest woman who told us no children were allowed and that was on their website. In NONE of the confirmations did it mention that anywhere and I had to search to find it written one time very small on their website. She proceeded to tell us coldly we could not stay with zero remorse and sent us on our way with nowhere to stay. We asked if we could please at minimum get a refund and she said yes. The next day she emailed and said she actually would not give us one. Truly horrible experience and would never recommend to anyone.

The home was beautiful but a bit too much “stuff” for our liking. Website says nothing about not having a tv, so that was a bit of a shock, as we enjoy watching the news and weather. It was rather cold for us old folks, owner said he kept the heat in 66*. He was kind enough to bring a little space heater. Then there’s the breakfast. Not everyone has the same taste in food so maybe a couple choices. First breakfast was good, second breakfast I didn’t eat because of what he served. I guess the price you pay is for location and not the important things. Music from the bar downstairs was loud enough we could hear in our room, late!

My wife and I and a few friends just spent an evening at Rosa’s Speakeasy. I literally just had the best mixed drinks I’ve ever had in my life, right here in little ol’ Fayetteville, W.V. Everyone should try the NL Bourbon drink on the menu.

We stayed at the Morris Harvey House over the weekend, and it was absolutely wonderful. The house itself is just beautiful, with stylish antique decor and an abundance of charm. We stayed in the Library Room, and it was the perfect combination of charming, romantic, and interesting.

The owners and staff were seriously the best. They were so nice, and gave lots of great recommendations for places in the area, including restaurants and hikes. The House itself had a wonderful little speakeasy, and I really enjoyed sitting outside and sipping a cocktail, and reading late into the night beneath the garden lights.

From the banana baked oatmeal for breakfast to the sweet little kitty cat, Creak, roaming the property, our entire stay left us feeling welcomed, refreshed, and eager to visit again.

The Historic Morris Harvey House B&B is such a wonderful bed and breakfast! It is perfectly located in downtown Fayetteville within walking distance of many great restaurants and within 10 minutes of anything you could want to do in the New River Gorge National Park. Our room was beautifully decorated as was the rest of the house. The hosts were absolutely delightful and we would not hesitate to stay again!

Beautifully restored and maintained by Valerie and Eric, this House is a true period piece. ||It is surrounded by a pleasant porch with outdoor seating and a well tended garden. It is located just a 2 minute stroll from the centre of the little town and a few minutes drive from New River Gorge NP. The House has ample parking at the rear. ||Our bedroom - Rosa’s Suite - was clean, comfortable and quiet but somewhat cluttered for a room of its size. The ornamentation, whilst historically interesting, limited the space available. We were concerned when moving around that we would accidentally break something precious. We had effective aircon although the WiFi signal was variable. There was a Speakeasy bar in the communal area but the House has no tv. ||We also had to tread carefully in the shower with the surrounding curtain which was delicately set up but lacking in robustness. Towels and toiletries were plentiful. The bathroom was light and well ventilated but the door stayed wide open into the bedroom and couldn’t be closed from the bedroom side. Breakfast was served on the porch. ||Clearly, much of the owners’ blood, sweat, tears and cash have gone into making the House as authentic as possible. In the circumstances it seems harsh to criticise but compared with several other B&Bs in historic buildings we stayed in on a road trip, our accommodation at the Morris Harvey House felt a little cramped and less practical. That said, we enjoyed our 2 night visit.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Harvey House. The house is as advertised and had very comfortable beds. Also, the shower in our suit was hands down the best shower at a B&B. The location is perfect. Ten minutes to the National Park Visitor Center and very close to a couple of good hiking trails. Finally, only 3 minutes to Cantrell's River Rafting. While in town we probably did not travel more than 20 miles total during our two night stay.
