The food was okay. The hot chocolate was delicious but it was served in a wine glass. Hot beverages need to be served in vessels that have handles. The glass was too hot to touch and picking it up by the stem was awkward. But it was delicious, like I said. This place does not sell alcohol, which is too bad because a cocktail or glass of wine would be perfect in that setting.

I regularly drive up here from Charleston (50 minutes and worth the trip!) I usually get the Chef’s Salad with their in- house made bleu cheese dressing. The bread is homemade “popovers” rich and filling. Enjoy home brewed ice tea. And don’t forget: the blackberry cobbler is a little taste of heaven. That’s enough to make anyone “a regular.”

The Glen Ferris Inn Restaurant has become a beloved tradition for us, especially every Mother’s Day. The charm of this place is unmatched, with its historic vibe and an unbeatable view of the Kanawha Falls right outside the dining area. The food feels like a comforting, home-cooked meal, with a variety that always gives us something new to try each year.

The peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautiful scenery make every visit memorable. It’s the perfect spot to celebrate and create lasting family memories, with the view of the falls making it even more special. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a scenic spot to relax, the Glen Ferris Inn never disappoints!

All three stars are for the view... The view is incredible. The food was awful and way too expensive for what it was. I got spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce looked like it had been sitting in a pot for three days. The garlic bread had an odd smell and tasted slightly worse than cardboard. Only had a few bites before throwing in the towel. All for the low price of $16. The service was fine, but we were the only ones there.

I stayed here in the early 1990's. I absolutely loved it. One of the most pleasurable experiences of my life. Scenic beauty, service, cleanliness of the rooms, all was superb. Highly recommend anyone wanting a beautiful memory they will never forget.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the father's day dinner the inn offered. From the moment you walk in we were greeted with smiling faces that made you feel so welcome. Our waiter was so nice, helpful and pleasant. He promptly brought is our drink order and the most delicious rolls that I promise you will not find anywhere. My husband and son ordered the prime rib, which they thoroughly enjoyed. I had the turkey and dressing and it was so tender and juicy. Everything was so fresh and tasted so good. We shared a piece of peanut butter silk pie and a piece of chocolate silk pie. The portions are very generous and this pie is over the top delicious. The whole place was clean and every staff member was so friendly. We will definitely be back again soon. I don't see why anyone would want to drive to a chain restaurant to eat mediocre food when you can drive a few miles to enjoy a local restaurant that goes above and beyond to make sure you have a nice meal and great experience. Give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.
