The treats begin as soon as you check in when you are greeted with decadent cookies. It's the most comfortable bed I've slept in all year! It's such a luxury to sleep with a fireplace keeping me warm and cozy! Hermosa Inn is a hidden gem. The customer service is first-class. My dinner (and desert) at Lon's was scrumptious.

Great outdoor dinner with live entertainment. The food was outstanding. We had short ribs , beet salad , mushroom soup . And the churros were outstanding . The decor is traditional Spanish . So it’s a nice place to take visitors . Excellent service and food .

Paradise Valley is beautiful! The Hermosa Inn is gorgeous on the exterior, and the landscaping and grounds are well kept.

I do not share the same sentiment regarding the room (Garden Casita with a courtyard/garden patio) I stayed in for the weekend. Although the esthetic is lovely, the decor is dated, and the attention to detail is just not there. A renovation, including a good DEEP CLEAN, would justify the daily price of $600+ per night and fees.

Besides that, everyone was friendly and accommodating. 🌵✌🏽

Hermosa inn has been very disappointing and it is not as classy as advertised. We chose this place as the venue for our wedding and so many things went wrong leaving us with bad memories of our most treasured event. I would not recommend this place for the below reasons.

-There was a leak in our rooms closet where our wedding dress was hanging in, causing a permanent stain on the dress.

- A small event (office party) was booked right at the time of our wedding where nothing separates the two events. When we learned about the time overlap, and we brought it up to the event manager, Liz a couple weeks in advance, Liz became offended saying with the kind of clients they have she was hundred percent sure there would be no Issues and there was no way they would be loud during our ceremony. That was not true! The guests of the other event were clearly Under the influence of alcohol, and extremely loud and laughing to the point, no one could hear our bride and groom and family’s speeches.

-There was zero privacy and everyone from that Other event, and everyone going to the restaurant Could see and hear everything at our wedding. When we showed concern, Liz said there was nothing she could, or would do about it. We ended up buying our own curtains for that.

- We were informed that our guest could have coffee, but not tea! If our guest wanted tea, we had to pay extra Which made no sense! We were able to argue against that at the end. However, we were shocked to discover at the dinner time that our guests had to get their own coffee or tea in paper cups which it totally went against the idea of an elegant wedding. Lemonades and soft drinks were supposed to be served during dinner time as it was a part of the dinner price per person which is $150, But no, soft drink was ever served during dinner. Clearly, they were pushing alcohol to the guess at dinner time so that they can make extra money beyond $150 per person, for the alcohol.

- As a part of dinner option we were supposed to have hors d’oeuvres being provided during reception time. Nevertheless, there was so little food brought around that I would say only about 20 percent of our guests got the opportunity to try or even see the appetizers.

Absolutely not worth the money spent and the amount of unnecessary drama involved.

This is the resort if you seek quiet solitude, great staff service, nice landscaping, good food and comfortable and well appointed and design suites, furnishings and beds. Cannot compare it to the mega resorts in Scottsdale because that is not what Hermosa Inn strives to be, so if looking for a pool scene, piped music around the resort, families with young children and free flowing liquor, you'd be best served going elsewhere.

If you’re a local and go to Lon’s for any meal you know how nice the property is! We decided on a quick getaway and stayed for a night. What a great and fun time! I recommend doing a staycation before the migration is back! No long drive home or flights just a very nice property to visit! Ride the bikes and chill!

What a lovely, quiet place. It was a lovely place to come and stay. If you want to be near downtown Scottsdale then it is a bit of a trek but it would not be so peaceful if it were downtown.

Arizona’s No. 1 Best Resort Hotel in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2023.

In the 1930s, painter Lon Megargee bought a plot of land in what is now Paradise Valley. The "Cowboy painter" built a small Spanish style home and studio from Adobe bricks and large wood beams. It was known as La Casa Hermosa.

In 1994, the beautiful Hermosa Inn resort opened and had been built around that original home studio, which is now the onsite restaurant, Lon's at the Hermosa and the bar, Lon's Last Drop. You'll find Lon's original Western artwork hanging throughout the bar, restaurant, and in the resort rooms.

The Hermosa Inn is a gorgeous property with only 34 rooms/casitas. It's a quiet, peaceful walk along the paths through the tunnels of bougainvillea and past relaxing water features. The rooms are spacious with warm Spanish details like large wood post beds and walk-in glass showers with sunlight streaming through the wood plantation shuttered windows.

We enjoyed our two night staycation and didn't leave the resort. We luxuriated by sleeping in, reading, swimming, and then eating and drinking onsite for each meal. Lon's restaurant is a local favorite for a charming night out and stunning instagram photos. They have gourmet offerings in the warmth of the original building or on the gorgeous patio under lights and umbrella like tree branches. (More on the restaurant in my next post).

We stayed in July so it was hot and quite empty. It was heaven. We only left the room for an early morning swim or to go to a meal. It was a great staycation for a couple just wanting to spend time together.
