The Hermitage Inn & Taphouse - Petersburg, West Virginia

This review is only for the restaurant. I was traveling through and and saw taphouse. They only have four 'craft' taps. The rest of the beer is mostly pedestrian. Their cocktail menu is much more adventurous.

I honestly was only going to have a beer and go. But my server (Hanna) said they had really good cheeseburgers. I've had many cheeseburgers in my life. I've had none better than this one. 8 ozs with lettuce and tomato and mayo. The beef was exceptional and cooked to medium rare which was perfect and exactly like I ordered it. Fries were hand cut, skin on. Good but hard to get crispy when fresh cut. My County Boy cider on draft was tasty but pricey. The burger and fries were a steal of a deal. It was so good I considered ordering another one. The outside area is very well done. 2 outside TVs, couple really nice fire pits. Cornhole. But back to that burger.... Spectacular!

Monica was extremely helpful, caring and accommodating when I unexpectedly needed a place to stay while traveling. I arrived visibly shaken and she made sure I had everything I needed to feel safe and comfortable. The Inn was immaculate with modern amenities. The bed & pillows made for a very restful night.

Very nice and clean rooms. Stayed here for an extended trip. Everything in the room seemed almost brand new. Only reason not a 5 star. Not much of continental breakfast and the advertised tap house is closed. It is within walking distance of a coffee shop and a greasy spoon type restaurant for breakfast.

Stayed one night at this hotel before a weekend of hiking. Beautiful, clean rooms that look very recently renovated. Comfortable beds, friendly staff - couldn't ask for more. We'll stay here again the next time we're in the area!

We visited for a wedding. We enjoyed our stay! It was newly updated. The room was great. Small fridge, microwave available at front desk, and coffee and continental breakfast. Only thing was the shower curtain was just a bit too short, and if your not careful, it will flood the floor. I would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while he participated in a fishing trip sponsored by Operation Heroes Support.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed having a chair, besides the desk chair. I often sat in it to read. The shower was wonderful! Nice sized refrigerator. Great breakfast options and chocolate chip cookies for a snack.
