Reservations are highly recommended!
My hubby and I happened upon this today. We were headed to Desoto Falls and wanted a cup of coffee. We decided since they happened to have a table for 2 available, to stay for breakfast. I'm so glad we did! The food was so good. Service was great, but slow. I'm pretty sure all the food is made fresh so well worth the wait! Our waitress was so kind and attentive. She explained the menu and even shared a few of her favs. The atmosphere is a tea party..Alice in Wonderland, to be exact. Whoever came up with this idea paid attention to detail. You won't be disappointed, but make sure you have reservations. Otherwise, the wait is upwards of 30+ minutes.

The Hatter Cafe is an absolute gem! A must see if you are in NE Alabama. You can see the labor of love this must have been and you have to appreciate the amount of work it took to put all of this together. The food was excellent, prices were reasonable and the service was great but the atmosphere takes the spotlight. You could spend a couple of hours just looking at all of the unique decor. We will certainly eat there again when we are in the area.

Such a cute little cafe! I can see why it’s so popular.
Wish the service was as friendly as the atmosphere…wasn’t necessarily “bad” but it definitely lacked big time in delivering what I presumed I would experience here.
A man who I assume is the Owner or Chef came around to greet tables and he was really friendly. Gave a preview of the Dinner menu available starting Friday evenings.
I do, however, believe the prices may not reflect the quality of food (For lunch at least, have not been for breakfast or dinner). I guess you pay for the ambiance. Nevertheless very cool place.

Do yourself a favor and visit this charming cafe! You won't be disappointed. The food is as tasty as the staff is hospitable! We had a group of 14 and we were very well taken care of. The chef visited our table and he was very friendly, too. We had breakfast. It was all delicious. I think I could drink the topping that was on the waffles. And the hasbrown casserole will make your mouth water.
Once your belly is full, head over to The Rabbit Hole. This little gift shop has some truly amazing items. There is so much to see! It doubles as a tea lover's paradise. They also have bakery items.

This was a very nice surprise to find. We drove by and turned around to check it out. I'm so glad we did. What a cute great fairy tale place. The food and service was good also.
We happened to have gotten to see a bunch of ladies joining for lunch, all wearing different kinds and styles of hats.
Their version of a tee party.
I highly recommend this adorable place.

Quite the unique place. Very friendly service in the restaurant as well as the gift shop. The food was good. I tried the Cheshires's Meow out of curiosity, and it was better than I expected.

An absolute delight to eat here. Love all the creative ways the rooms and tables are decorated! The very best collards I have ever eaten in a restaurant! Collards are on the “down the rabbit hole” which was delicious!

Hatter Cafe has a wonderful atmosphere. We had a fabulous dinner. Our server, Chloe, was attentive and very knowledgeable. We had a very nice conversation with the owner. Would highly recommend!
