Overall, it was a great experience. High class with a 60's vibe. Not conducive to a tight budget. This is a destination resort with everything you may want to do. The shooting club & falconry were amazing. The staff was friendly & very helpful. The rooms were spectacular. The grounds were beautiful. The Bunker Tour was very interesting. If you are financially able, it's highly recommended.

Some guests loved the resort's history and architecture, while others appreciated the modern amenities and activities. Many guests raved about the staff, who were described as friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with some guests noting that they were a bit small. The food was generally well-received, with some guests enjoying the fine dining options and others preferring the casual cuisine.

I've been told that this place was nice, but it I doubt it will be open for long with the way that Mr. Justice runs it. I was here for an American Bar Association conference, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is all very friendly, but it appears that they are trained to not disclose in pricing that ALL services (including the shuttle that takes you into Lewisburg) have a 9.75% Historical Preservation Fee that also includes gratuity (don't know how much goes where). The food has this fee, the tours of the bunker, and spa service. It is WILD. The food is also very terrible. Twice we dined there (we then went to Lewisburg for the rest of our meals because Lewisburg has awesome food). The food was over salted, over cooked, and sometimes tasted plain rotten. The spa is okay, but very dated. We went into the sulphur springs tubs, and while laying in the dimly lit room, there was dark hair floating around the tub. They also offer some of the cheapest snacks I've ever seen at a spa (Planter's trail mix, really?). The breakfast that our conference was provided was also disgusting. The "farm fresh" eggs were clearly powdered eggs with too much water and again over salted. The snacks were tea sandwiches that tasted stale. The gym was located in the pool room which was odd because it was simply too hot and muggy to workout in. The rooms were okay, but the bedding seemed a little dingy and stained. If you are visiting this area, I would recommend staying in Lewisburg and eating there. Don't waste your time and money.

My stay at The Greenbrier was excellent from arrival to departure. The elegance of the entire facility and Southern hospitality made for a very special time. I enjoyed the beautiful room decor of Dorothy Draper being very spacious and cheerful. The two In-room breakfasts was a treat and like fine dining without getting dressed for the restaurant. The waiters bringing it were very hospitable. The spa pkg. was also a special treat. Dining at the Main Dining Room, Prime 44 West, The Forum and Drapers Cafe were all outstanding. I would highly recommend a stay at the Greenbrier. This was my second visit since 25 years ago and it was not disappointing!

It was such an amazing opportunity to stay at The Greenbrier, the history, food, libations, spa were all amazing. I wish I had more time. The golf course was great and the sulfur spa was something else. For those going, despite the age it is an upscale resort and you should be prepared for such. Make sure you read about dress codes and remember the rooms are very much like they were decades ago.

Wonderful spring package. Interior design spectacular. Service over the top. Highly recommend . Indoor pool wonderful. Spa - best massage in years. Steak dinner at 44West delicious- can split an entree and salads are enough for two. Look forward to returning.

Visiting the Greenbrier was on my bucket list and I was not disappointed. I was very excited to do the bunker tour. My husband and I arrived a few hours early for the bunker tour, but we found out that our tour was canceled. We were able to get rescheduled for the next day and our tour was free. We really appreciated that! We were staying overnight anyway because it was a long drive from home. We really enjoyed exploring the resort. Everything was beautiful, especially at Christmastime. We went to afternoon tea, which was a pretty cool experience. We ordered pizza from room service. It wasn’t the best pizza we’d ever had and it was pricey. Morning coffee in the upper lobby was wonderful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our bunker tour was really interesting. I wish you had been allowed to take photos because it was all pretty cool. Would definitely recommend the bunker tour.

The Greenbrier has managed to preserve the history and luxury of a bygone era. I felt like I stepped back in time, in a good way. The hotel is roughly 250 years old and has hosted many of the most important and notable people in the world. Read up on the history of the hotel before you visit. Between its amazing legacy and stunning opulence, you'll feel privileged to be there.

The interior design is a character unto itself. Dorothy Draper, the designer, was not afraid of prints and color. It's like a few grandmothers were let loose inside to decorate and they managed to pull it off. The grandeur of the building holds up to the powerful designs. Striking.

The food I had was terrific. There are a number of amazing restaurants. Try the chilled peach soup from Draper's.

I loved how the place came alive in the late afternoon for tea and cakes. There was a real buzz. Everyone was excited to be there. Bars started to open. There was live music. People were drinking, sitting together and talking. It felt like something out of a movie.

I look forward to going back. Great place for a romantic getaway. Plenty of things for kids to do. History buffs will enjoy it. Sports enthusiasts will dig it.

It's amazing.

This was our tenth stay here and we enjoyed it as much as ever. It never gets old to us and we always want to go back. This time it was in the dead of winter, after the holidays, and it seemed at times that we had the place all to ourselves and that was not a bad thing. We had a very relaxing and restful time. The staff was friendly and helpful, as always, and our room was clean and comfortable and nice and warm even with the 10 degree temperatures outside. The breakfast buffet was very good and so was our meal at Prime 44 West. Yes, the place is expensive, but it has to be in order to survive. Just the maintenance and upkeep on a resort of this size would be a tremendous expense. It has 710 rooms and 11,000 acres to take care of, not to mention payroll and everyday operating expenses.
The Greenbrier is truly an amazing place and an American treasure. It must be seen to be appreciated. You won’t be disappointed.
