As a Marriott Gold Rewards member I have to admit this particular Hotel is the only one I will stay when in Winchester overnight. Despite being in the Wyndham affiliation (the only downfall, but easily corrected by making reservations directly through the Hotel) This place is amazing! The property has a great location and lots of parking. The staff from the front desk to the bar tenders are top notch. The service is excellent and it is a great value. The Hotel has tons of character and history. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas are very clean and well maintained. The food is very good at the bar. Not a hotel pun, but my only reservation about this post is that more people will go there and may be more difficult to reserve a room!

What a gem! We love staying at historic downtown hotels and The George Washington was a pleasure! The staff is friendly, the parking is easy, the attached restaurant has delicious vegan options and great service, the pool and hot tub are adorable, and the room was perfect. The water pressure is great, and the bathroom in our room was HUGE. We love the little fridge and microwave too. Awesome stay all-around. We hope to visit again soon!

Beautifully renovated historic hotel with all the necessary modern amenities. Suite was amazing and huge. Meeting facilities were beautiful perfect for smaller meetings of 100 or less. Tons of neat restaurants all within a block or two. Was there for a meeting but will definitely go back for a personal stay.

For the price, it was definitely worth it. The service was great, and the restaurant has a superb menu. I hope to come back sometime. The hotel is in a good part of town, with easy access to shops and historical places. As a history buff, I love the 1920s decor of the place.

i really enjoyed my stay here. the hotel is in a great location in the heart of downtown winchester. really easy to walk around and get to the breweries, restaurants and shops with no need of a vehicle. i was on a quiet floor and my room was super clean and comfortable. the bed was great and i loved having a microwave and refrigerator in the room. staff was very pleasant and always available. there is a pool, fitness center, spa, restaurant and bar on-site. my breakfast was just okay but the coffee was great. my only complaint is the price. for being in winchester, va i paid $200, and that was with a discount. still, i would recommend this hotel and definitely stay again.

Excellent accommodations. Renovation very tastefully done with keeping the historic nature of the building and era. Very clean very comfortable beds and linens. Very close and convenient to the downtown walking mall area. A lot of restaurants and breweries. A hotel bar was excellent as well as Uno’s pizzeria. We will definitely stay again and I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I were only in the Hotel about 12-hours, and this this review consequently is a trifle limited:|1. The online check-in was quite easy, and both of the staff members were pleasant and helpful.|2. The lobby is very attractive. The bar especially seems inviting. Unfortunately, I was sick and went straight to the room.|3. The room was adequate with all the normal amenities. The walk-in shower was nice.|4. The parking was easy, but I wonder if free street parking is available.|5. We encountered only one problem. My bride left her favorite sweatshirt in our room. We repeatedly inquired with the Hotel, but it was never discovered.|6. Despite this small problem, I would return to the George Washington.

Fantastic surprise for my wife to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Absolutely fantastic service and beautiful hotel inside and out. Loved the unique indoor pool and hot tub. Well equipped work our room too.
Location was great for touring this historic city and cool ‘ downtown ‘ Old Winchester. We had a fantastic stay and plan to return one day. Again , top notch hospitality, service and quality.
