While en route, my car broke down, and I ended up booking an impromptu stay at The Escape. Despite the unplanned nature of my visit, it turned out to be a very positive experience. The check-in process was entirely self-service, with the entry code and room details sent via message. I appreciated the convenience of this self-help setup.

My 10-year-old daughter mentioned she had the best sleep she’s ever had at a hotel, thanks to the incredibly soft mattress. However, there was a pretty large hole in the sheet, which almost led me to rate the stay lower. Still, my daughter encouraged me to overlook this minor issue, given all the other positives. Overall, a great stay! Will come back for future trips to the area.

Great boutique hotel with amazing value. Really cool spot with great location. Restaurant downstairs (we didn’t eat there) which is awesome, as well as lots of other options very near. Lots of shopping nearby as well. The rooms are quaint but well equipped. If I had one critique, the tv signal wasn’t great, but it is hardly an issue. We will definitely stay here again next time in town.

Awesome boutique hotel. It is in town and within walking distance to plenty of places and there is a bar and restaurant literally next door with another restaurant and also a bakery behind the building. Parking is on the street, but there are a few spots, and we didn't have any trouble finding one the time we were there.

We booked through a third party, and it ended up being self check in to the building and the room which we found very convenient (no waiting for a front desk person to finalize your reservation).

The rooms are definitely a cut above standard hotel rooms. It kinda feels like an efficiency apartment.

I was in town to do some hiking and when I was looking for accommodations, this popped up and had really good reviews for a very reasonable price so I decided to book it and I’m so glad I did! It’s in a very quiet, convenient area very close to a little downtown area with shops and cafes. After I booked, I was messaged a code to the front door and then to my room door, so it was super easy once I got there. The owner was quick to answer my messages and it was sort of nice not having to deal with a front desk (it’s kind of a giant house style accommodation with several rooms to stay). The room itself was beautiful. Very spacious, there was a kitchenette area as well as the sleeping area and the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the linens, blankets and towels, were very good quality. The tiled shower area was beautiful and some toiletries were also provided. It’s located pretty close to New River Gorge and a lot of other destination spots in the area. There is a restaurant right next door in which I had dinner one of the two nights I stayed there and the food was great. I believe I just missed some live music, but it was so convenient being right next-door. If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend The Escape!

Nice hotel with kitchenette. Spacious room nicely located. Walkable to all of historic downtown. Quiet, comfortable. We had a minor check in issue and the owners personally took care of it! Would stay again.

This was a nice little place in Lewisburg, a short walk from all shops and restaurants in the small city. Rooms are spacious and modern and there is ample parking in the area. If you have a lot of luggage like us, mind that there is only stairs to the second floor and that they are quite steep.||The few small negatives was that the door/walls were paper thin, so at some point we acutally thought that people outside was on their way into our room. Also, although the bathroom was really nice and spacious, the shower pressure was really weak. It also took a long time to even get warm water, so that was a bit of a let down. We came from a day full of hiking, so it took a while to get us all properly showered. ||Other than that I would definitely recommend this place over any chain hotel any day.

My husband and I stayed here overnight while in the area to fish and canoe the Greenbrier River.||This hotel was in an old building above a restaurant. However, it was quiet despite the restaurant downstairs. The room was very cute! Everything has been updated and was quite modern. The owner even texted me the morning of our stay to give us the door codes. I texted back with a question about parking because we had a 16 foot canoe on our vehicle and she was very helpful! Our only complaints are that there was only 1 trash can and there was a soft spot in the floor of the shower.||We would definitely stay here again!

Terrible con. Claimed to be "steps from stores". This was not the case. It was on a back street. Tiny room where there were only 2 straight chairs for my husband and I to watch TV. No one is in attendance. A cold set-up, and if you need anything, no one is on the premises.
