This is a very clean cute place. Rooms are large, Bed was comfy. It would have been nice if house keeping would have grabbed are garbage after or few days or offered clean towels. A coffee maker in the room would have been nice. The small bar inside it also would have been nice to have a domestic beer.

Queen bed too soft. Foam pillows.
No blanket - just sheets covered with thin spread.
Had to share towels - only 2 bath, 1 hand towel and 1 washcloth.
Very loud AC/heat unit on the wall. Had to turn it off to sleep.
We left after 1 night. Found another hotel for rest of our visit to Tucson.

I have stayed at the Downtown Clifton several times and really liked it. This time was different. The room was not clean (the bathroom was). The lamps on the night stands lacked bulbs. When I asked for bulbs, I got one in each lamp even though the lamps could accommodate two light bulbs. The fryer was down at the restaurant so only a few menu items were available. I had to ask for more Kleenex and toilet paper. There should have been extras in the bathroom.

very dirty overpriced 'boutique' motel. Location was the good part. they way overcharged for what they offered, and when I asked for some reduction, to their 'normal' rate ( as we paid a premium rate due to trade fair in town, though the hotel was not full at all), they have now blocked my emails. glasses dirty and sticky, stuff stuck in bathroom sink, no housekeeping in 3 nights, dusty under bed. not worth the price paid by any means.

My third stay, and my last. The room was okay, but the internet was not up, the television programming was terrible, there was no extra blanket and the room was cold at night, and the promised coffee was not provided either day. There is no front desk to ask for blankets, coffee, ice or anything else once the restaurant closes around 8. The office is locked and empty until somebody feels like coming by in the morning or whenever. I overlooked some other problems from previous visits because the location was very convenient for me. (Curtains that don't cover windows, windows on ground level room that didn't latch, let alone lock. That time I got moved into a new room.)|I emailed the owner/manager with my concerns, and she offered to refund our two night stay. Now she is ghosting me! Apparently my phone number is blocked and she has never responded to subsequent emails. Vey odd business. Never again!

I've been to the Downtown Clifton 4 times, but this may be my last. What was once a neat, unique hotel has become a bit of a trashy mess. The grounds were poorly kept, empty Amazon boxes stacked 3ft high in an outside corner and the room was clean enough, but couldn't tell for sure. And don't ever stay on the ground floor, you can hear every foot step and even when the shower turns on for the upstairs guests. When checking out, the attendant barely acknowledged us and certainly did not say hello, have a nice day, how was your stay or even a thank you.

I really wanted to like this hotel but it was an awful experience—very unprofessional. No one was at the front desk almost the whole entire duration of my stay. The first morning I woke up to realize there is no coffee, tea or water in the rooms at all. There’s a sign that says the lounge has coffee at 7 and no one was there the entire time. The WiFi was horrible and when I called to ask the front desk—the person answered by saying “hello” as if it was a personal phone rather than as a professional at the front desk of a hotel. I asked for room service as I was staying several nights and no one ever came to service my room. Overall, very disappointed with my stay. It was way too expensive for that kind of service and quality of the hotel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Nicely decorated. Nice touches. Large room. Walkable to downtown and multiple art galleries. Enjoyed our stay here.
