The room was beautiful and clean. Loved the tall ceilings and windows, city sounds were a bit noisy at times, but we live in the country ao just not used to it. Dinner was good but could have been served warmer, an appetizer we had was just ok. We would eat there again though. Breakfast was better and very good. Looking forward to coming back to The Darling.

We made a pretty spontaneous booking a few days before Valentine's Day. SO glad we did! The building is so beautiful. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and check in was a breeze. The rooms are so well done, very charming and cozy. The chandelier lighting above the bed is such a nice and romantic touch. The complimentary coffee was AMAZING! And I loved having such a breathtaking view of the mountains. Overall such a lovely little getaway and we will definitely be booking again!

The Darling is lovely. Quaint with a retro 1930’s vibe. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable with an amazing rain shower head. Parking is private and secured. Don’t miss dinner on the roof. Excellent. I had the best whiskey sour.

I’ve stayed at this boutique hotel several times when visiting my parents, and it’s always a pleasant experience, though not without its drawbacks. Set in a beautifully restored historical building, the hotel exudes a sense of elegance, with silky, tasteful interiors that truly reflect its unique character. The small outdoor pool is a nice touch, offering a peaceful spot to unwind, and the parking lot, though limited in space, is a convenient amenity.

The hotel’s restaurant, located on the top floor, offers food and drinks. However, I do feel that the room rates are a bit on the high side considering the overall experience. While the rooms are beautifully decorated, the one I stayed in was disappointingly small—so much so that it was difficult to move around comfortably, especially when trying to get to the bed.
Another downside was the bathroom amenities, which felt too basic for the price point. The lack of sound insulation in the rooms also became apparent, as we could hear a fair amount of noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway, which detracted from the overall sense of tranquility.

An additional frustration was the absence of breakfast included with the room. Hotel guests are directed to the upstairs restaurant, but the space is often fully booked by outside patrons, making it inconvenient for those staying at the hotel. It feels unfair that hotel guests don’t have priority, especially when the restaurant is directly on the premises.

Despite these issues, the hotel remains exceptionally clean and classy, with a lot of potential for a truly memorable stay. It’s certainly a charming option for those looking to enjoy a stylish and quiet escape, though I hope they consider making a few improvements, especially regarding room size, amenities, and guest access to the restaurant.

I visited the darling hotel on a solo trip. It is a very cute boutique hotel. Has lots of character. The rooftop bar and restaurant is delicious. I recommend checking it out if you’re staying there. Front desk lady was so nice and checking out. The man was very sweet. I definitely recommend this place for everyone visiting Visalia.

The hotel atmosphere truly embodies its name, making you feel as if you've stepped back into its vintage era. Every detail, no matter how small, impressed me. My husband and I also had dinner at their rooftop restaurant, Elderwood, where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. It truly felt like a luxurious experience. The price was incredibly affordable and worth every penny.

We enjoyed our stay . It was a beautiful weekend . The staff was friendly and helpful. From the front desk and house keeping to the bartenders and servers in the restaurant. The blue hong that could have made our stay better was to have the elevator working from the entry level floor as we had a few heavy items to carry up. Staff offered help with our luggage 🧳. ||We cannot wait to return . We signed up for the linger longer and loved it ! Thank you 🙏 ||We are not big drinkers so perhaps have an option for a free latte or a free mimosa flight .

Amazing and beautiful place to stay! Very historical and unique place. Robert from the front desk was very helpful and gave us plenty of tips on what to do and where to go. Rooms were comfy with the very retro styling look and feel Would totally recommend anybody to come enjoy themselves. Great restaurants nearby within walking distance the great history surrounded all around.
