Oh man! You need to come here! Cleaner ingredients and the ketchup doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup in it! My husband and I had the fries covered in bacon and cheese appetizer, build your own burger and I substituted onion rings instead of the chips. Fresh, and cooked to perfection. We are looking forward to coming back!

A family owned and operated an excellent retro interior that's warm & comfortable tables & booths.
Highly recommended for lunch & dinner. Fun atmosphere with a country store full of sundries, antiques and collectibles for sale.

On a whim, I decided to drive from Morgantown, WV to Winchester, VA using only two-lane roads to the fullest extent possible. As part of that decision, I found myself in Fort Ashby, WV at The Corner Bistro.

The Corner Bistro is a combination restaurant/café and antique/collectables shop. It is located at a crossroads of WV 28 and WV 46 and has plenty of parking. I have posted some photos, including the awesome food that I will focus on in the review.

I started with the Asiago Cheese and Artichoke Dip with naan bread strips. The dip was great, and the naan was made to perfection. It was hard to stop eating this dish when the main dish came out, as it was that delicious!

I also had the Bacon Bleu Cheeseburger with fries. The fries were well done and were not greasy compared to other fries I have had elsewhere. As far as fries go, they were light and crispy. I had bleu cheese dressing to dip my fries in, and it large chunks of bleu cheese that made the fries so much better.

The burger what cooked a perfect medium, and the fresh bun enhanced the flavor of the meat. I did not add any condiments to the burger, as the bleu cheese and bacon combo gave more life to the burger. The staff was awesome throughout my visit and made me want to come back to have another great meal.

In other words, I will be back!!!

I was not sure what to expect in corner bistro as a new restaurant to me but I was overwhelming surprised at the selections service and ingredients that popped with freshness … worth the 25% tip as a bump to show my appreciation for Quality.

Took my wife out for dinner and it was absolutely perfect, food was awesome. Highly recommended the crab dip. Perfect ratio of chips and dip. All the chips are home made and come out hot! Ruben was perfect and my wife got the taco salad... be advised the taco salad is huge!
Recommended Ally or Izzy as waitresses they are awesome.

My husband and I went there a few weeks ago because of the wonderful reviews. We both ordered the French Onion soup. It was ok but we are both used to French onion soup with croutons and cheese. The soup was broth and onions. I ordered the big fish dinner. The fish was mostly breading and very greasy, (I ate a few bites and left the rest) the baked potato was large but cold the salad was great. My husband ordered the fried chicken dinner. He said the chicken was ok the fries just fries and the vegetable (I think green beans) were ok. We did not get dessert but they did look good. I didn't want to take the chance of spending another $10-15 to be disappointed. The shop is cute. The overall service was good. I would not go back because of the food.

My husband and I wandered down to the Corner Bistro for the first time this afternoon. I told him after the first few bites of our lunch that I was sad we waited so long to try it! I was expecting comfort food (country grandma style) but what we got was comfort food BEAUTIFULLY elevated! My husband and I consider ourselves foodies so sometimes it takes a special restaurant to grab our attention and the Corner Bistro is exactly that- so special! I definitely didn’t expect to find a cute little bistro of this quality in the middle of Fort Ashby, WV. This place is a gem! Don’t miss it!
