The new-ish owners love dogs and have done great things with the hotel, making it a popular gathering space. They seem to be making more and more of an effort to be part of the community as time goes on, which is great. Downtown businesses need to support each other.

Upon check-in, nothing was explained to me. This is an old Victorian hotel, so you’re likely going to need to explain things. I didn’t know how to turn on the heat… and for the price I paid, I would expect something more than a portable heater. The bathroom is very dated and could use some modernizing. The walls are very thin, so I could hear people come and go and the housekeeper start quite early. I could also hear people go up and down the stairs all day and night, which at times really annoyed my dog, but it’s an old hotel, so just keep it in mind.

I was also notified by the hotel that my dog was being loud. This was at 2 p.m. during the day, and it’s a dog friendly hotel. I know my dog has separation anxiety for the first 1-2 minutes as I leave, so to be told that he’s loud really threw me through a loop. When I received this update, I was in a business meeting. Imagine how that affects you, but regardless, I appreciated being notified. Later, they dismissed it all because he was no longer loud.

This hotel is way overpriced for what you get. While the historic features are notable, it’s not worth it. The pictures online make it seem a whole lot better than it really is.

Management: Consider removing the window AC units when the season changes. It’s incredibly cold in the hotel, and a portable heater can only do so much. Also, get better at communication upon check in. I wasn’t aware of WiFi, fog fees and that I’d have to pay for parking. You need to tell your guests this, don’t nickel and dime us as we check out.

It’s a cute hotel, but sadly my experience didn’t match the price point.

Stopped by the Bishop for coffee and appetizers with friends. The atmosphere was spectacular. the service was excellent. Most important is that the staff were friendly and the icing on the cake during the visit.

We had the best stay here for my birthday. It was quick but memorable. Love that the lobby is dog friendly as well. We cannot wait to come back and spend more time here.

This is a wonderful hotel, especially for a couple’s get away. Great location for hitting the downtown galleries and shops. Beautiful courtyard to relax in, as well as the coffee/ wine bar lobby.

Comfortable plush beds. Super clean. Average value for $250-$275/night. Bathroom was spacious but shower was a plastic insert and for the money that was disappointing. Danish and other baked items in lobby were super pricey. Another bakery, Pane d’ Amore, a seven minute walk, was superior and reasonable.

This is the third hotel I've stayed at in PT and I'd say it's second best so far (second to Palace Hotel.) The showers need help. The faucet rests on top of my head and I'm only 5'7. The hot water doesn't get hot enough.

Beds were comfy enough and passed the stain test (I checked the mattress protector to see if it's gross every time.)

We only got a quick drink at the bottle shop - a 7up in a glass bottle that was more than $8 total. A little steep imo.

Overall, no major complaints but I also wasn't wowed.

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Bishop Hotel in Port Townsend! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The wine bar was a highlight with its stunning garden setting, perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine. The live music added a delightful ambiance, and the small plates were delicious. Our room was spotless, featuring new beds and fresh linens that made for a comfortable and charming experience. Every detail of our stay exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!
