A friend and I went to Peace Hill B&B only for afternoon tea. If you live in the area, do experience this gem in lovely Charles City. From Williamsburg, it was 30-40 minutes along the beautiful route 5. It is fall now so our view was the colorful trees all the way to Peace Hill. |The setting was charming. We sat in the room with the fireplace with a view out of the countryside windows. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Afterward, we were welcome to walk the grounds and see the farm animals which was delightful.|We plan to return often.

Lovely B&B situated in a quiet bucolic location. The morning and evening views are spectacular. The comfiest bed we've slept on in a long time. Lots of amenities in the room and bathroom, and the innkeeper, Louise, is outstanding. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Lots of places to walk in the countryside and farm animals to visit. We will certainly return.

We would have given it 5 stars except for : no daily cleaning (unless requested and there is only one key to the room), a strong sulfuric smell when running hot water in shower and sink. Addressed with innkeeper and hopefully fixed before next guests.

What a peaceful and delicious way to have afternoon tea. We lucked out and made a reservation on a February Sunday afternoon the week before Valentine's Day. It is not a big place and basically your party will have whatever room to yourselves. We were in the room where the 'store' is and where all the beautiful yarn sold is displayed. We were a little early and there was another couple enjoying their tea in the larger dining room next to the kitchen. Louise is the hostess, immediately brought us some iced water. The selection of teas is limited. She was offering Earl Grey and the chocolate tea. I couldn't have the chocolate tea since it had almonds and I am not a fan of Earl Grey so she brought us black tea which was fine w/ us. We started with a small bowl of carrot soup - wow, absolutely delicious and very hot(which is the way I like my soup). Then she arrived w/ the tower of goodies. Plenty to eat, three types of crustless tea sandwiches, egg salad, cucumber, & chicken salad, also ham on a small homemade biscuit; two per person. All sandwiches were yummy, The ham & biscuit was fabulous - she uses butter and no mustard - which made me happy since I am not a mustard fan. The star of the tower is the scone w/ fresh whipped cream & strawberry jam - I forgot to ask what kind of scone - it was delicious. Also included was a slice of zucchini bread w/ some kind of liquor on it. To finish off the tower were fresh cherries and a homemade chocolate truffle. We felt very comfortable dining privately. The afternoon tea price is very reasonable $25.95 per person. Since Peace Hill Farm is in Charles City County, there is only 6% sales tax, no meal tax. It was a nice drive from Williamsburg. We will be back again.

A must for high tea! Went here with a ladies group and the high tea was wonderful! The tea included soup and three-tiers of sandwiches and sweets made of fresh ingredients from the farm. No one walked away hungry! Several ladies ventured out to peek at the animals and farm lands, and the hostesses were very knowledgeable about the history of the farm. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

We had a really nice stay at the Bed and Breakfast at Peace Hill while on a bike trip. The hosts were accommodating and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and both the breakfast and the charcuterie board we had on arrival were delicious. Don't miss the chance to stroll the grounds and see the farm and animals

Louise, Tanya, and Mike were excellent hosts. The food was amazing, the rooms were beautiful, the beds were really comfortable and the farm was very peaceful. We had afternoon tea, which was amazing, and enjoyed relaxing both inside by the fireplace and outside on the screened-in porch. Tanya was very thoughtful and attentive and made a wonderful dinner, and both Tanya and Louise made delicious breakfasts. We were sad to leave, but will definitely return. Thanks for a great weekend getaway!
