Cecil Bacon Manor (its new name since sold to new owners) is a unique experience. Beautiful gilded age old wood ornate charm, combined with today's amenities and wonderful service. The owners are super nice and attentive to every guest. It is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood on Capitol Hill, but just minutes away from downtown by car or bus. It does feel like home, but nicer!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Bacon Mansion and would definitely return.

Each B & B is unique -- it's an expression of the host's vision of hospitality, combined with the features and quirks of the property itself. If you fundamentally need and want a very predictable and standardized hospitality experience, then B and B's might not be the right type of travel accommodation for you. You need to be willing and prepared to enjoy and respond to what you find at each inn.

We found (in the Iris room, a little, cozy, steeply gabled room without a closet,) a comfortable bed with lovely heavy cotton sheets, window fans instead of A/C, a bath shared conveniently with the one other third floor room, with waffled cotton spa robes to facilitate the steps from room to bath, and AWESOME water pressure in the 3rd floor shower.

The common areas on the first floor are both indoor and outdoor, and include a lovely garden area, ample and multiple small group seating spaces, and a beautiful large dining room with a spacious table. Breakfast included bottomless tasty coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, as well as baskets of still-warm fruit muffins on the table.

We found Daryl and his staff welcoming, helpful, friendly and efficient. I inquired in advance about having a local friend join us for breakfast, and she was welcomed with no fuss, and we were not charged. The key arrangements were easy, the host is available by text, the neighborhood is lovely, walkable and has easy access to public transport. After our gorgeous August stay, I thought we'd even love to visit in the depths of February and enjoy the gas fireplaces and the library.

I can't imagine not enjoying the Bacon Mansion, unless you're the sort of traveler who can't be happy unless you're *looking* for something to criticize! Unless you're THAT traveler, we'd highly recommend.

Darryl is the best host and we appreciate his hospitality. The mansion is a beautiful 100+ year old home in a great spot in Capital Hill. It is lovingly cared for with beautiful western views through the fall foliage. It has a nice outdoor patio for enjoying pleasant afternoons.

Coffee and tea is waiting right outside your room each morning to help start your day. Breakfast includes delicious baked muffins, fruit and more.

The rooms are large and nicely appointed. There are relaxing rooms with a grand piano if you are musically inclined.

We will definitely be back for another relaxing stay.

Only stayed here for one night. The house is cool. The room I had was small (cabin room). Like so small you have to bend to get through the door and can hit your head on the slanted walls. Be Aware of this if you have multiple people staying, it was just me and it was still small.

The bed wasn't particularly comfortable but maybe that's a preference thing. It was pretty firm.

The bathroom is shared (this was specified). It was clean and stocked. The door handle is just hanging loose and the 'lock' was a cheap hook. Pretty tacky.

Breakfast is the main reason I'm rating low. It was just coffee/juice, a fruit bowl, yogurt and a muffin. None of it was particularly bad and the service was friendly. I just expect more from a b & b than continental breakfast. I could've stayed at a hotel for less money and had close to the same breakfast with a bigger room and private bathroom.

Loved this Gem tucked into the folds of Seattle. A unique place with a lot of character. You can really tell Darrell, the owner, really cares about the property. Our room, the carriage loft, was in, you guessed it the carriage house. Roomy, clean, great heater, very comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! He leaves hot drinks and cookies in the house to snack on. Coffee maker in the room was already set up for the morning, you just have to hit the button. Little things like that are what put this place high on my list. There is a great private garden/fountain sitting area outside. A nice healthy breakfast and pleasant conversation was great in the morning. Definitely recommend this place. Less than a hotel or air b&b in downtown and a lot more memorable. Thanks for a pleasant short stay!

When we first stayed at the Bacon Mansion, it was basically for convenience because our daughter lives about a block away. However, we now choose Bacon Mansion whenever we need a place in Seattle. Rooms are wonderfully decorated, very clean, and have every amenity we need. Morning coffee outside the room is wonderful as a "wake up" treat. And, breakfasts, in the dining room, are always a treat with fresh fruit salads, yogurt, and the best muffins ever! The Staff is very friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable about Seattle. I also enjoy talking to Daryl, the owner!

My family has stayed here several times now, and it has been great. It's located in a nice and quiet area, just a short walk north of the hustle and bustle of the popular Capitol Hill neighborhood. The walk to/from the light rail stop is pretty level too, if you have rolling luggage. The bed and breakfast has great accommodations, including wifi and fresh delicious muffins in the morning. The manager is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

My aunt and I stayed here for 3 days while visiting Seattle and loved every minute of it. The staff is friendly, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and cozy, and the breakfasts each morning were PERFECT. Being close enough to walk to downtown Capitol Hill was also a big plus. We even walked to Downtown Seattle one day, although that was a bit of a trek. Our only issue was that we were moved from one room to another halfway through our stay, and were not informed until we arrived on our first day - but the staff moved our luggage, and seeing another room was actually nice in a way. I would highly recommend the Bacon to anyone staying in Seattle.
