I booked a night at the Taylor Home Inn to surprise my husband on his birthday. It was such a treat to be greeted at the front door by the owner, (Dave) and taken through each room of this home. Such attention was paid to detail, it was amazing! Dave is a wealth of information about early Mayberry days, it was positively delightful, sharing stories! Oh, and did I mention the plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we came back from our dinner? Yummy! The following morning, Dave was up early fixing our breakfast. It was a feast! Kudos to the details of not only Mayberry, but creating an extremely relaxing atmosphere. Take a step back in time.....you won't be disappointed!

This is a very special place. If you are a fan of Andy Griffith show, this is a must. This is a place you feel you are right at home from the first step in. It was such a wonderful experience to stay here and Dave is so kind. The breakfast is top notch and we even got cookies in the evening. You can almost hear the voices of Mayberry when in each room or on the porch. We are so thankful for the wonderful stay we had. It was so peaceful and perfect. We truly felt at home in the home we all grew up with. We will return soon.

Dave is an excellent host! We had an absolutely delightful stay. This is a must see for any Andy Griffith Show fan. The house was amazing and makes you feel like you are in Andy, Aunt Bea, and Opie’s home. Downstairs is a replica of the jail, something you do not want to miss. You will be so happy you took a seat and set a spell!

We spent 2 nights here in June 2019, in Andy's room. We got to see all the rooms, and all are spacious with private bathrooms. The bedrooms are upstairs, and the living room, dining area, and kitchen are on the main level, and all look just like they did in the Andy Griffith Show. But this isn't a set, it is a cozy B&B where you feel at home, comfortable and relaxed. Dave is a great host and we had interesting conversations about many subjects. Breakfasts here are wonderful. Wally's gas station is out back of the garage complete with a soda pop machine, and the courthouse in the basement with the jail cells and Barney's room (Barney's uniform even has just one bullet in the pocket!) are perfect additions. There is a TV room upstairs with many DVDs (including Andy Griffith, of course, but many others as well), games, and books. The front porch is perfect for relaxing with a book and a soda pop. We hope to return next time we are in the area.

Wow! If your an Andy Griffith fan you have to plan to visit here. Owner and host Dave is GREAT! My daughter and I stayed in Andy's room. The front porch is nice and relaxing and you will love Ellie, Dave's friendly and playful dog! Breakfast was soooo good. Dave goes out of his way to make you feel at home back in Mayberry!

We were very impressed with this Taylor Home reproduction in many ways. When you drive up and are welcomed into the home, you literally feel like you have come to visit the Taylors. Dave is an excellent host in that he gives you a tour of the place explaining the different rooms and décor and then he leaves you to yourself to just enjoy your stay in ‘Mayberry’. ||We stayed in Opie’s room, because that room was one that we remembered most from the TV show. The room had a comfortable queen bed and a lot of attention to details that make it seem authentic with numerous items that will bring back memories from various episodes of the program. The rest of the house also has a lot of memorabilia from the show and there is a replica of the courthouse in the basement and Wally’s Service Station in back of the house. ||To finish off your visit Dave serves a very nice country breakfast before you head out.

When you actually go and step in the house you feel as if you really are at the Taylor's house for a visit, and at any moment Andy, Opie and Aunt Bee will be coming out to welcome you. The breakfast is fabulous and delicious. You sure wont leave hungry in the morning. Dave is just a wonderful host. If you love the Andy Griffith show, it's a place you must visit. When you visit, there's no rush, no hurry, just sit back and relax you may even want to try peeling an apple without breaking the peel.

When you pull up in front of the Taylor Home Inn Bed & Breakfast (taylorhomeinn.com), a nearly exact replica of Sheriff Andy Taylor’s house, you feel like you're in the sleepy town of Mayberry, N.C., home of TV’s “The Andy Griffith Show.” But this isn't Mayberry. This is western Wisconsin, 90 miles northeast of the Twin Cities.||In 2003, Dave Scheuermann, the B&B’s friendly owner and operator, built this faithful recreation of Andy's house on six acres of land at 373 30th Ave., outside of the town of Clear Lake, population 1,052. ||My wife and I stayed there March 26. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish, we recommend it.||When you walk in the front door of the B&B, you’ll step into Andy's living room, which looks exactly like it did on TV. On one side of the living room is the dining area with its familiar hutch and a Grandma Moses painting. Through an adjacent doorway is a kitchen like the one where Aunt Bee prepared dinner.||Upstairs are three bedrooms — Andy’s, Aunt Bee’s and Opie's — from which visitors can choose. All include a private bathroom. Also on the second floor is a comfortable television room with satellite TV, movies and vintage television shows on DVD, a variety of games, a refrigerator, a microwave oven and complimentary water and popcorn. ||One of the highlights for me in the Taylor house was the basement, where a replica of the Mayberry Courthouse has been constructed. It includes the office of the sheriff, two jail cells and Barney’s sleeping room. ||Scheuermann has food service experience, and that was obvious at breakfast time. Everything was delicious. ||Rates at the Taylor Home Inn Bed & Breakfast are $128 per bedroom per night.
