I've stayed and ate here on two successive years in June. The cabins are rustic and large with an ensuite bathroom. It's located on the Denali Highway near the end of the paved section. The photos below show the views across the street from the Tangle River Inn. It's a scenic, serene and very quiet location. The home cooked meals in the restaurant are delicious and we got to meet the legendary Nadine. I even filled up my gas tanks at their gas pump. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Traveling through Alaska in Motorbike, I was riding for the Denali HWY. I slept in this wonderful place with stunning views. The Room/Cabin was ok. The Hotel has a nice restaurant with great views, good food. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend stay there a couple of days to relax and enjoy the all that beautiful nature. If you are a fisher man, that is your place. Motorbike Riders are welcome. I hope can come back someday. Thank you.

We stayed here for a couple of nights back in August 2019. Plenty of character, decent food for sensible prices.
Busy but friendly staff.
Fuel was available.
The room was basic but comfortable and the shower room was clean.
All in all a good stay during our North American tour.

We stayed in a "swan room" with shared bathrooms. The room, though not aesthetically pleasing on the inside, was clean and dry, making for a good place to sleep when visiting the main attraction here, the outside. The location is what makes this place ideal, the lodge itself is mostly average. Though it's clean and dry, the temperature regulation in the room is: literally open or close the windows as the single thermostat for the entire unit of rooms in a single room (So no turning it up if cold, or turning it down if warm). The bathrooms are always clean, but are only single-person facilities (one men's room, one women's room), The food was pretty average as well... No wifi but you don't need it :)||Nothing bad here at the Inn, but also nothing to write home about... save your writing for the scenery that surrounds the place!

We drove in from Paxson for the views not expecting to find a restaurant and inn 20 miles down the road. So we stopped for coffee and blueberry pie. Had a great chat with our server, Lisa, and sat in the sun and admired the views before heading back to Glenallen. A very pleasant interlude in our travels.

Our family stayed in a comfortable cabin (Bear cabin) at Tangle River Inn. The next day proceeded to float the Delta River starting just across the road from the Inn. We were able to leave one of our vehicles at the Inn the other at MP 212.5 Richardson Hwy, the take out point of the float trip. The meals we had at the inn was very satisfying and the large window overlooking Round Tangle Lake was a gorgeous view.

The only location with an operating gas station (unleaded fuel) in this area. If you miss it, be sure to have gas for at least a 100 more additional kilometers. The next station (either direction) may not have gas, may not be open, or may not even exist anymore. The pump is aged but maybe this is what reflects a bit of the historic flair of former Johnston town. The Old Denali Highway and this location is spectacular, nice restaurant, worth a stop.

We stopped in for breakfast after we left the Tangle Lakes campground. Good food and decent service considering one lady was running the whole show (serving, cooking and running the register for restaurant and gas station). The food was good and the pancakes are EXCELLENT.
