The room was absolutely perfect for a family. We had an oceanview out the large patio. The pool and outside area was gorgeous and we loved using both. The games room was wonderful for the kids and the attendant there was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really great and it's such an added bonus to have that convenience and savings added to the stay.

I wish we had been up on the 2nd floor just for security but we never had any issues. The room was clean but had a smell to it and there was a weird vet wet spot on the carpet that I assume was left from cleaning a stain but was gross to step in a wet spot.

We would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful resort. They have activities to do throughout the day (painting, wine and cheese tasting, bingo, puzzles, ping pong, pool tables,and much more). Location is walking distance to the beach and main streets with plenty of places to shop and eat. I definitely would love to come back and recommend to others. Also definitely love that it does not smell like smoke or cigarettes.....100% smoke free

We were able to upgrade to an amazing ocean view on our second night there. Great location with many restaurants all within walking distance. I really enjoyed walking the walking path along the beach. Sunsets were awesome.

Although we were scheduled to check in next Tuesday for two nights, an unexpected family issue came up; however, I had to ensure the outstanding customer service level Fred displayed was noted. We asked for wheelchairs to be ready and there was no hesitation and he was just so gracious in making suggestions around the area. I truly appreciated the amount of time he spent on the phone with me, including a great visual of the position of the ocean front rooms we initially booked. This property felt so personal and family oriented. We can’t wait to reschedule our reservations in the near future. Thank you FRED!

We enjoyed an incredible stay at Tamarack Beach Resort. All of the staff were attentive and polite. Our room was amazing with beautiful ocean views. The facility is close to everything - we just walked to restaurants and shopping. Will definitely return.

The rooms are a little old and need updating, but my husband is nostalgic about this place so we stay whenever we visit Carlsbad. I love that it’s right across the beach and nearby restaurants are accessible. The hotel definitely needs upgrading, though.

My wife and I Vicki and William checked in Friday September 20th the next morning the 21st we were sitting by the pool 14 minutes before breakfast started and a gentleman named Gerald came and started shouting at us told us we could not be in the pool area at all we had to go back to our room and wait 11 minutes. He then proceeded to tell us because we asked about the outdoor barbecue grills by the pool he informed us right then and there that the pool and the outdoor barbecue grills were for the guest timeshare only. We came for our wedding anniversary which he totally ruined my wife was crying very upset because we could not use the pool or the outdoor barbecue grills which upset her because we had stopped at a meat market in Oceanside to buy a couple of good steaks we ended up having to toss them out. We feel that the tamarack should change all their signs outside of the rooms letting regular guests know they are not allowed to use anything around the pool or the pool also change your website there are no outdoor signs that tells people any of this information. We paid more than $2,000 dollars for a one-week stay which your employee Gerald ruined for my wife and I that's a lot of money to spend at a resort that you cannot use the pool or anything near the pool you may want to state that in the future. We feel the tamarack management owes us another week at no charge with an apology. We try to contact the main manager whose name is Tony we have a card with his email address but it does not accept personal emails from the general public you may want to fix that problem also how can you report a problem to the manager when their email blocks to public? We came there for our wedding anniversary and when we found out that we could not cook our dinner that was thrown in the garbage what a waste of our hard-earned money. So beware if you are staying at this resort call to ask questions first like can you use the pool? Can you use their barbecue? And they will tell you no like they told us. What a waste of $2,000 dollars for a wedding anniversary.
