For reasons beyond our control, we were forced to cancel our trip due to the tightened travel restrictions imposed by the Alaskan government only 9 days prior to our departure from Texas. The airlines and other hotel we had booked gladly canceled our reservations and refunded our money. But the owners of Mount Dall Vacation Rentals very reluctantly refunded only 50% of our prepaid fee. We fully understand all the travel losses resulting from the pandemic, but had we known of the new, tighter change sooner than 9 days before leaving we could have canceled per their policy. As it was, we requested cancellation more than a full week in advance, and most importantly, as soon as we found out. It’s sad they can’t be just a little more understanding, compassionate and flexible like other businesses so as not to alienate any future tourists looking for similar accommodations. We'll look elsewhere when we rebook our trip after the pandemic dies down a little.
