An unassuming but exceptional B&B in Seward that exceeded all my expectations. Well located, comfortable in every respect, clean as a whistle, charming and eclectic, and most of all incredibly welcoming. Mike and Marsha are wonderful and knowledgeable hosts. Mike’s breakfasts are Michelin Star quality … and I do not exaggerate! Bushy, their much loved and very well behaved dog was an unexpected bonus. For me, Sunshine House B&B truly felt like home. I could not recommend this accommodation highly enough! Its a long way from Australia but if I ever go back to Seward, it would unquestionably be my accommodation of choice. We spent 2 nights at the Sunshine Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Blue Room downstairs and it was great. The room was spotlessly clean and had its own ensuite bathroom.||Location was great. We walked to the harbour along the water’s edge (the long way to go) at a very relaxed pace, taking photos as we went, in about 30 minutes.||Breakfasts were outstanding. Mike made us a delicious hot breakfast with different dishes each day. Our favourite was his baked omelette.||The thing that really made this B&B special was the hosts. Mike and Marsha were just fantastic. We really enjoyed our chats with them. ||Do not be put off by the outside of the house, a very warm welcome awaits you inside.

One of the highest rated places to stay on a booking site, we found that our 2 night stay reflected that sentiment. Centrally located to the popular downtown walking areas and near the free Seward shuttle stop, you can really just park your car (free parking) and leave it for your stay. The hosts are really good about making varied breakfasts (salmon poke, pancakes, bacon, fresh berries, omelets) and providing them to fit your schedule if you have an early start. If you're lucky to book a room, do it to support two teachers and you won't be disappointed!

As far as Bed & Breakfasts go, this was great! The rooms were neat and comfortable, the location was within easy walking distance to local businesses, and the sights were gorgeous. The best part was the breakfast, though; each morning, the hosts made the most delicious spread of food I've ever had, and lots of it. Highly recommend this B&B for people who enjoy that little extra touch of home.

What a wonderful place to stay! Mike & Marsha were super welcoming, really friendly and fantastic breakfast chefs! They're fantastic hosts, going above and beyond to make sure you have a relaxing stay. The room was ideal, great amenities, very clean and the b&b is in a fab location walkable to various restaurants. Their dog Butchie is a real cutie, we enjoyed getting to know Mike & Marsha over delicious breakfasts (warning: go hungry! Fantastic food and so much of it!) Would highly recommend staying here when visiting Seward!

Our stay at Sunshine House could not have been any nicer. The room was comfortable and clean. Marsha is an amazing host and we instantly felt welcome and at home. The breakfasts were delicious and we didn't think about food again until almost dinner time. I also appreciated Marsha's flexibility when I needed to change the reservation mid stay to include a second guest. The location is perfect as well and was within walking distance to everything. I look forward to returning again soon.

Marsha and Mike have such a passion for Alaska and their home, and we were lucky and honored to stay with them!!! We were there 4 nights at the end of August, and enjoyed every minute! Their homemade breakfasts are legendary!!! They were so helpful with local information and hidden gems to visit, and their location can't be beat, very walkable to downtown and the harbor front. Marsha even washed our smelly fishing clothes for us, that was after having our breakfast ready at 5:00 a.m., and packing a lunch for us to take!!! You will not find better hosts anywhere!!!

This place is a gem. Mike and Marsha welcomed us at the door. Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. It was nice to chat with the hosts and other guests while we ate. We were also a few minutes walk to the center of town. We definitely recommend Sunshine House.
