The worst management. We’ve been camping there for the last 7 years, same week and spot every year. The last few years are always a challenge to book and secure a spot because of the level of disorganization of this place.

We like the location, but will not return because of the lack of management. Again, this year we went to book our spots we signed up for when leaving the previous year and the spots are booked to others. We called to see what could be done and after multiple ‘’management (Crystal)” will return our call, never heard a word. We settled last year for a different spot and were promised it would be resolved this year. Now, nothing resolved and lack of care to return a call to book something else shows they just don’t care.

So fed up with this place, highly recommend staying clear. It’s expensive, yet dirty and crap amenities, but due to traditions we have always went.

Can not recommend this place at all, management, customer service, amenities, cleanliness, are all extremely poor, positive is location and lake an access, but that’s it.

I did not stay here. The reason being that their advertised prices are BS. The checkout price is over 30% higher due to "taxes". Their response: "it's 10.2% for state and city tax an additional 20% for transient, lodging, cleaning, and park maintenance fees." This is in addition to a daily boat moorage fee. Ouch!

The staff were nice & friendly and that's as good as it got. |The place is overcrowded, very little grass, but lots of dirt, smelled bad and lacked maintenance. The bathrooms and showers smelled of urine pretty much the whole time we were there.|Karaoke on speakers until 11:30 PM by people who have no business singing and the speakers are loud enough so there is no chance you can ignore if you just want quiet! Campsites literally on top of each other! On multiple nights we had couples fighting right next to us after midnight and on one night someone was revving their engine at 3 AM.|Really not possible to swim in the water because you have to walk through many yards of smelly soft mud and weeds to get to the water.|Who are these people who are rating this place a 5?

The place was trashed, dirty dirty! And it took me about an hour to contact anyone after multiple calls and driving around town trying to find someone to ask about our rental and to get code and check in details…wish i could add the videos i took of the restrooms and on how i found my rental.

This is our second time renting a house at Sunbanks Resort. We rented unit 506 which is a two floor 5 bedroom (4 queen and 1 room with two twins) two bath house. It had one large downstairs deck w/ bbq and tables, and then one smaller balcony shared by two of the upstairs rooms. 506 is the best unit for parking and has plenty of space. The house was decently clean however the floors could have used a sweep and mop. We knew what to expect so we brought a few cleaning supplies and a swiffer. Everything in the house worked fine and the kitchen had enough utensils and dishes to get by. If you need anything beyond the basics come prepared. The beds are really the only complaint our group had. They were noisy and not very comfortable but the bedding was clean. The resort is large and sprawling with tons of different styles of accommodations. We also booked a boat slip and everything with that was great. The main lodge has a decent convenience store and the cantina is attached if you’re looking for drinks and food. Banks lake has very few places to stay which probably influences the pricing of Sunbanks. If you have realistic expectations for the resort and are using it as a home base to visit one of the best lakes you can find this place will work great for you. I’m sure we’ll be back in years to come. It’s definitely a party for good down to earth people.

My family and I along with 3 other families all rented sites close to each other for our annual family camping trip, this past week. This was our first time coming here. Overall we had a great time down at the beach or out boating. They did karaoke two of the nights which was a blast to see all the little kids up there signing. All the staff was nice to talk with and helpful.

If you're looking for a camping spot that's not surrounded by a lot of other campers then you might want to try another camp ground. But for us and our family, we have little kid's and they loved it and made all kinds of new friends to play with which was nice for us. I would recommend this location to anyone who loves camping and doesn't mind being around a lot of other campers.

Tent camped on a few sites, they were awful, and the high price made it even worse. Trash all over, bathrooms were disguising, way overcrowded, terrible parking, LOUD, lights on everywhere at night (thankful we brought a dark tent), and poor check in service. Store is full and nice. The boat slips and dock were great but covered in bird poop.
The water is incredible, the views are amazing and there are miles of lake to explore. The only redeeming quality of the place, thank goodness we were able to escape for hours on the water.
Oh and the cliff jumping!! Be safe and have a blast!

I don't think I've seen so many trucks and boats in one place. Karaoke at the cantina was a blast on Friday and Saturday. I'll be real, I noticed a lot of deferred maintenance, but this isn't a luxury resort, this is a rustic camping and boating destination. We stayed in one of the houses, it was clean and comfortable. We rented a pontoon boat, it was really nice. Went wake surfing with our friends. Next year I'll bring my own boat.
