We had a delightful mother-daughter afternoon tea here. It was a celebratory time for us and we felt very welcomed to dress up and enjoy a posh tea here. We were excited to see it also could be a casual place to go. The tablescape and tea was lovely. Real china, real sugar cubes, real devon cream (!!!), nice heavy weighted teapots that kept the tea warm. The three-tiered stands were adorable with cut-out edges on ours. The pastries and scones were delish. Our own complaint was that we really wanted an egg-n-cress sandwich! There was one sandwich, a whipped cream with orange and pomegranate which felt more deserty than savory and wasn't to our liking. The others were fine. We just always assume a traditional egg salad is somewhere on the menu. Despite this, we enjoyed ourselves, the service was attentive, but allowed us to indulge in a good long talk, and the tiny gift area was fun to browse in.

My friend and I had afternoon tea service today for my birthday.

The table was beautifully set upon arrival (I made a reservation in advance for an outdoor table), and with the sun out, it was all looking to be a perfect birthday celebration. And it was! The food was yummy, especially the scones, which were my favorite part of the 3-tiered set. Our teas were exquisitely aromatic, and we couldn't stop ourselves from drinking pot after pot.

Kay is an angel! She is warm and lovely, and her charm brings the place together. We truly felt welcome during our stay.

There are afternoon tea services that go for $100+ per person, but our tea set for two came to the same price. It shows me that you don't need a pricey menu to ensure a quality experience.

I will definitely be back as soon as possible! Thank you for making my birthday great!

This is the best afternoon tea I've had in LA! Do not skip out on the fig rosemary scone, I had it for my first bite and wished I had more. The sandwiches were soft and delicious, and the sweets so yummy with the Karina tea! The shop owner was so kind and our table was beautifully set up before we arrived, and so attentive to us even though it was a busy day. Looking forward to coming back soon!

This place is so cute! I got the Afternoon Tea package with sandwiches (great value!). I tried the mini ube and strawberry scones, which were both delicious but the strawberry was my favorite. I had the Karina tea which I enjoyed, and added some oatmilk cream and sugar. Highly recommend as a cute outing with a friend!

Cute cafe to buy scones to go or have tea time. They have two tables indoors but most of the seating is outside. The scones come in mini and regular sizes and range from $3-6.

I’ve been to about 6 afternoon tea spots in LA and several around the world and when I tell you the scones at SugarBird are out of this world, I mean it! I tried the fig rosemary, lavender white chocolate and lemon blueberry. The clotted cream was perfect too, easily spreadable and actual clotted cream, unlike some shops who serve whipped cream and call it the same.

I also bought the tea sandwiches, absolutely delicious, especially the fig Brie and arugula sandwich, perfect savory combo. I had the Fiona iced tea, perfect, not too sweet or bitter. The patio was so lovely to sit in the shade. Absolutely love this place, would definitely come back!

Sugarbird Sweets has the BEST scones! I've always loved scones, but Kai and her team have taken it to the next level with interesting flavor blends. My favorite, so far, passionfruit coconut - Yum!

So excited and proud Sugarbird finally has a storefront. My family and I have followed Chef & Owner Kei since it first started and only had regular priority mail delivery and pickup from a co-op location in Downtown LA. I stopped by after the Montrose Farmers Market, where Sugarbird was before and I believe still is for other Farmers Markets, and Kei herself was managing the store. She was nice and really excited to finally have her own storefront. I got a free tea, free clotted cream, the tea sandwich set, six scones (ube, lemon blueberry, matcha, fig & rosemary, passionfruit & earl grey) and shortbread cookies.
