Great campground next to the Trinity River. There was a picnic table, fire ring, and bear proof food storage container. Plenty of room for our 8 person tent. Lots of wild blackberries to pick and they were amazing to eat! There was a nice path down to the river and it was quiet all night long.

My wife and I spent three nights here on July 12 through 14 in 2013 to escape Redding heat. ||||This a recently refurbished campground containing 12 sites all with picnic table, fire ring, and a flat spot for your tent. Half of these spots are along the bank of the South Fork of the Trinity River with your own little trail to the water's edge. If you select one of these sites, you'll get to sleep to the sounds of the river at night and have mostly shade during the day. The paving and vault toilets are new. The vault toilets are the nicest we've ever seen - that is, if you can call a vault toilet "nice".||It was very quiet here with hardly any traffic - probably because the campground is at the end of the road. This place is dog-frendly, unlike most campgrounds we've visited. We shared this campground with about three other guests each of the three nights we were there.||||Contrary to the prior review, this campground does not have water except from the river.||||The sites are just $5.00 per night. There is tons of split fire wood available at $5.00 donation per wheelbarrow load (honor system). Some Fir, some Pine, and some Oak. When we were there, the Fir wasn't yet seasoned so it didn't burn too well but the Oak made up for it. There is a pretty cool little beach within five-minitues walking distance up-stream. The river is awesome!||||We would have given this place higher ratings except for the following three issues:|||| * The garbage dumpster reeked so bad you could hardly get near it.|||| * The Camp Hosts (a young couple), although very friendly, lived in a fifth-wheel with trash cans, traffic cones, tents, tables, boxes, bicycles, bags, hanging hammocks, other unidentifiable hanging objects, propane bottles, BBQ's, gas cans, lots of other ugly crap, and a small generator that they ran for five full hours one day until we asked them to turn it off. This trashy vision is your first of the campground when you arrive, and it is NOT GOOD.|||| * the Handicapped Accessible site, while fully operational, was entirely draped with yellow "caution" tape. We presume that the camp hosts did this in order to not have to chase out any non-handicapped campers. We can think of a couple of more appropriate and less impactful ways to achieve this than yellow tape draped everywhere!

One of the best kept secret campgrounds, We found it by mistake in 2001 and are looking for a campground. The host's were gr8.Great fishing. Went across river and traversed down old dirt/muddy road. We barely made it back up the hill with a very heavy van.
