We hired Starline for a work event to drive us across the state. Just hours before we were supposed to be picked up, they cancelled on us. They left our staff and 30 volunteers stranded. because we couldnt get to our event, we also lost thousands of dollars on our hotel rooms. We have called and left messages with the company and they just refuse to respond. I would give 0 stars if I could.

MY HORRIBLE STARLINE EXPERIENCE

1. I travel with a folding bicycle. This a bicycle that folds up into a suitcase-sized package. These are increasingly common, and can be quite expensive (mine was $2,000+). I pay a premium to travel by Amtrak because I can take my bike on board and not worry about damage.

2. Our Amtrak 516 train to Vancouver BC on Friday 5/24 was overbooked, resulting in passengers (myself included) being redirected onto a Starline coach.

3. Starline's coach driver refused to allow me to place my folded folding bike along with the luggage, where it would have stayed stable. Instead, he required me to put it into a compartment meant for bicycles. This compartment offered no bungie cords or ways of keeping the folding bicycle from being damaged. I had to lean it on the side (which it is not designed for). The driver expressed zero willingness to understand why this was not appropriate for a folding bicycle, and refused to engage with me. He also indicated that there was no management I could escalate to, because he does not work for Amtrak.

4. What should have been a comfortable ride, was extremely stressful, as I was worried the whole time about my folding bicycle getting wrecked along the way (not unreasonably).

5. When I went to photograph the car’s ID tag (for the purpose of recording it if needed for filing a complaint), the driver became a bit belligerent and insisted I didn’t have a right to photograph your company’s vehicle without his permission. To be clear, this is even not a legally appropriate demand by your driver - I was in a public space outdoors, and have every legal right to photograph objects in an outdoor space. (Certainly, Starline had no transport agreement with me in which I gave up my right to photography, either.)

6. I consider myself lucky that there was no material damage from this preventable mishandling. Instead, there was “only” paint damage that will cost an hour of my time to fix with touch-up paint that I now need to purchase.

The driver, instead, could have let me to take the clean folded bike into the bus (there were many extra seats and it would have easily fit in the leg rooms), or allowed me to leave it with luggage. However, because he adopted a "this is not my problem" attitude, the customer experience was awful.

** I will take down this review if Starline implements a folding bicycle transport policy that solves this problem for future customers. **

I am not one to write reviews, but I had to come here for this. I used this charter bus company for transportation between hotel and fields during a national flag football tournament this past weekend. My experience with the bus drivers and operators during the entire weekend was very positive.

During the hustle and bustle on the way to games Sat AM, my phone unfortunately dropped between one of the bus seats without my realizing it. I assumed it had been permanently lost or stolen. However, three days later, the Find My iPhone app traced my phone to the parking lot of the charter company, at which point I called Starline to see if they could try to find it (in their entire parking lot of busses). Within just a few minutes of my call, the employee at the front desk had gone to find it, called me back to get my address, and is mailing it to me. This kindness and customer service goes so far above and beyond.

We recently took a Starline bus to Leavenworth, WA for the Christmas Lighting. The driver was great, he got us there and back safely in the bad road conditions, and had a great attitude considering the unhappy people on the bus. On the flip side the bus was less than a great ride. The weather was in the low 20's, and the heat wasn't working except up by the driver everyone was super cold including children. It was mentioned to the driver and he expressed it was on all the way. The restroom door would not close all the way nor lock so someone had to always play door monitor. There was a broken window that had been taped in many places as a "fix". We had to make a special stop at a gas station because the wipers were not properly maintained for the driver and his visibility was getting limited. The cost of the seat was $65.00 per person. I believe it should have been maintained properly and heat provided for the price. It was a miserable ride and would rather drive ourselves next time and have heat as well. Less than impressed for sure!

It is 1 am and I just got home from a Victoria Clipper trip to Leavenworth Christmas tree lighting ceremony charter was Starline as the "Luxury" motor coach. The fact that our coach was far from luxurious was the least of our concerns. On our way up, the other bus in our group broke down, we were told it finally arrived about an hour late. Fast forward to our ride home and about 25 minutes into our trip, we realized our driver was driving downhill on the pass with NO lights. Something was faintly flickering on every couple of seconds however he couldn't pull over safely as there was a ditch so he was forced to continue on for quite a ways until he could do so. Once we finally pulled over, there was ZERO cell service or ways to call the dispatch, zero flares, zero reflectors, NOTHING. To give the entire scenario I will shorten to let you know after almost 2 hours a second bus finally came. Finally relieved to be on the second bus and headed home, we headed up the pass. Short lived as it was we once again lost power headed up hill! The driver maintained his composer, however not only did we travel only a few MPH, we also had limited visibility because a lack of defrost. 3 different buses, 3 different breakdowns, this is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable and should be investigated by the DOT & whomever else oversees this company & its fleet. They put my family and I's life at risk, along with all the other passengers and would not recommend anyone use them. They are lucky our driver kept a cool head, otherwise this situation could have been disastrous.

Today, I had really bad experience in the Starline shuttle service with Crystal mountain. We booked 4:30pm bus, but get on line for 4 pm. The bus driver told us to get back the line, if there would be seats, they will let us on. So we got back the line at -5C. Then, the bus driver, a 60ish white lady started to let all people behind us in the eating line to get on bus and left us in the cold without a word. She individually picked each person to get on bus. All these ppl have 4:30pm reservations. And it happens that they are all white male. Then, we are the only 4 Asians left in the cold. This lady wouldn’t let me talk at all and was really rude to all of us. Is that because that we are Asians. Is this racist for no reasons? I am so disappointed on crystal mountain’s choice on shuttle service. I love this mountain, but such such horrible experience today. So rude! So angry! So unfair!

We used Starline for our wedding transportation in September. The buses were clean and comfortable, and the drivers were consummate professional. It was great! They had the best prices after comparing with 4 other transportation companies. Initially, their booking software gave us a weird quote because it didn't include the entire time we asked for despite the times being right on the contract. They honored the price we had. Eventually, we had to up the time and change the bus schedule anyway and they were still the the best option we could find. The first person we worked with, was difficult to communicate with due to one reason or another. But eventually she was replaced by Tracy Riggins. Tracy was awesome. She was quick to respond, attentive to our desires, and made sure that our contract was squared away so there would be no questions about what bus should be where on the day of our wedding. They picked us up the wedding party from our hotel in downtown Seattle, drove us to the church by UW, and then to the reception in Ballard. We had 2 more buses pick all the other guests at the hotel a little later, and then transported everyone to the reception. We then had a couple buses do a few trips at the end of the night to make sure everyone got back safe and sound. Everything went off without a hitch no one involved in the wedding had to be directive with any of the bus drivers, they all knew exactly what was going on. They'd get five stars if we were working with Tracy the whole time! I'd recommend working with Starline for private event transportation to anyone!
