I visited the Spider Lake Motel this weekend and where do I begin with how amazing the stay and experience was! First off, I was very impressed with the staff, Pam took care of us from the moment we arrived! She is a great person and very hard worker. She also knows everyone and everything in the area, so her knowledge was priceless and very appreciated! You can tell she takes care of the motel and makes sure guests have everything they need for a great visit.
The motel itself is a cute little building off the corner of 77 and Upper A with a very accessible parking lot. There are tables and a grill top outside along with a very nice little pond out back. There are upper and lower units in the motel. I was fortunate to be able to check most of the rooms out to get an idea of what is available, I will talk about the rooms in general and the room we stayed in specifically.
We stayed in The Moose, a very cute modern 2 bedroom unit with a wonderful full kitchen that I was not expecting. The kitchen had new appliances, everything you would need to prepare a meal, and the fridge had an ice marker that was FULL of ICE! A full sized coffee maker was available to use. I felt right at home with all of that immediately. The living room was very nicely set up and had fancy color changing fireplace and some cards for playing games. The room also has WI-Fi access, which was nice for playing some music on my portable speaker. The bathroom was very clean, the water pressure was perfect, and there was everything we needed when we arrived. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable, easy to walk in and set down your bags and relax. I had slept very well and had no complaints about the beds at all.
The other rooms I got to take a look at all had nice setups with unique character. You can tell the owners of this place have a great eye for interior styling and detail in general. The tile work in the bathrooms and the backsplashes are amazing for example! The artwork, signage, and decor in general in the rooms is very rustic and reminiscent of the areas history and "Lake life" culture. The work that was done to update this place based on looking at past pictures has made it a night and day difference! I was very impressed with style of this motel.
Overall I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Hayward area. This is one of the nicer places I have stayed at in awhile. It is a perfect place to take a fun weekend trip. There is plenty of things to do and explore in the area. The bars and food were also amazing, be sure to check out Dows for some drinks across the street and Tiny's for some breakfast! Book a room for at least 2 nights if you can at the Spider Lake Motel and you will not be disappointed! I will absolutely be going back to explore more.
