First off, I get it, construction sucks but I honestly wouldn't of noticed if I didn't see them up front. My stay was comfortable and staff were amazing. Cleaning staff were kind and helpful, and front desk was knowledgeable and attentive to what I needed. Restaurants within Hotel were quick and tasty, I mostly ate from their cafe and taproom and I enjoyed it. All in all, my room was clean, food was good, staff was kind and helpful the only thing I would complain about was that I didn't get told or know where pool or gym was... I was too embarrassed to ask😂😂 so maybe a map or brochure would've been helpful.

Don’t stay here

The listing completely misled us. The photos were of suites and they gave us a tiny room. When we kindly asked for the right room they said all photos are samples and we should have asked.

We had no hot water for three days. We called daily and they couldn’t care less they just said it’s recently renovated so not all rooms get hot water which is ridiculous. It was freezing to shower.

You could hear anyone talking or walking outside your rooms making sleep difficult.

When we asked for a partial refunded they said leave a negative review instead, they clearly didn’t care. We attempted to find a solution kindly and they basically told us to go away. Worst hotel stay.

We had a night layover in LA after an 11 hour flight from New Zealand. All we wanted was a clean, comfortable room with good reviews, a pool(we knew we would not have had sleep and all we wanted to do was lay at the pool) and a shuttle. We booked this hotel as we read the reviews and it said that the renovations were completed. Check in, nothing said. Have a shower and change into bathing suits, down to the front desk to find out where the pool is. Ask and are told that it is closed for renovations. What Was offered 30 dollars off! They said it was on the website but someone took it down and now they are asking for it to be put back on the website again because of the complaints. We cancelled and went to another hotel. Other guests complained that it was not the only thing closed. We don't know as we left!|Do not go here unless you verify what amenities are available.

There aren’t a lot of things an airport hotel needs to get right to not be a total disaster. The guests are in transit, they’re exhausted, they want things to be easy. This place, somehow, fails in spectacular fashion.

For starters, the WiFi straight-up does not work. At all. Which, in 2025, feels like a minor crime. The first room they gave me? Not cleaned. At first, I thought they were just a little lax with the housekeeping—some crumbs on the floor, no big deal. But then I spotted the used rope (why?) and caught a whiff of the bed, which smelled so aggressively bad I had to switch rooms.

Then there’s the water pressure, or lack thereof. Sink, shower, all of it weak to the point of uselessness. And look, maybe that sounds nitpicky, but if a hotel can’t even provide a decent shower, what exactly is it doing?

The staff is kind and helpful though and they should not be blamed for any of this.

We stayed here overnight after missing our connecting flight with AA, and while I was initially worried after reading some reviews about n google, our experience was completely different. Traveling as a group of 12, we arrived after midnight, exhausted, but the reception staff were absolutely wonderful—friendly, professional, and efficient. They made the check-in process quick and hassle-free, which we greatly appreciated.||||The rooms exceeded our expectations—spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The shower was fantastic, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, providing exactly the rest we needed. We also had breakfast at the hotel, and it was excellent. There was a great variety, including pancakes, bacon, fresh fruit, and more, all delicious. The server was warm and attentive, adding to the positive experience.||||Overall, this stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel for a comfortable and accommodating experience.

There was drilling and hammering daily since 9 am.They offered changing my room but could not promise no noise because “the WHOLE building is under renovations”! They will hold you $200 per night on incidentals and charge you $29 per day on “destination fee” which is just “shuttle and coffee” Seriously? Breakfast not included, and the to go options range 25-35 bucks.Ah! And gym, pool and service center not available although advertised!DISSAPPOINTING!

Stay was comfortable. I liked how electrical outlets and charging ports were conveniently placed at the bedside. I also liked how the floors did not have carpet and looked clean. A shuttle is also available. Valet attendant, Jona, and others were super friendly, kind and helpful.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Sonesta LAX. It is undergoing some renovations. The room was spacious, comfortable, and modern. In addition, it is the most cost effective location close to the airport (and rental car return). Very comfortable beds and very clean.
