Great place to visit! Actually a must while in Soldotna. The hosts were very helpful and kind proving helpful information for my fishing trip in the Kenai river. The visitor center is well located, just by the river site with a great path to the river where you can fish and also clean your catch. The most impressive piece at the visitor center is the world record salmon caught by Els Anderson. What a great fish! There are also pamphlets and maps available for free to help you find your way in the region.

Katie is extremely friendly and helpful! It has a good display of local wildlife and is well maintained. I love the walk down by the river, too (she says they keep it shoveled in the winter).

It’s a great spot for salmon fishing during June-July. We were very beginners in fishing. People over there were very friendly and helping us. The people at the visitor center were also helpful.

Soldotna Visitor Center wasn't the friendliest place. For an empty place, no one greeted me or looked as if they wished for me to, towards them. I looked around and left after a minute. I found my way, easily, to the Homestead Museum + using Google Maps.
